WIP, but I didn't find that it felt lacking or unfinished. This characterization of Adam is so staggeringly good that I wanted it to go on forever. Adam's relationship with others (Gansey, Blue, Henry, his parents) is so so so good and true to canon, I just felt all his emotions and honest teenage confusion. And his early-days moments with Ronan were gorgeous

absolutely obsessed with any and all deep dives into the different aspects of Ronan's spirituality, and the symbolism of him offering Adam a cleanse from his past is just so delicious. he teaches adam to let go of his fear and teaches him to hold his head above water and is water not simply a stand in for love? anyway. gorgeous. adam's inner psyche was spot fucking on. I deeply wanted them to get together earlier as a canon divergence and immediately realized it was the only option when they didn't.

author's grasp on adam's character (alienness/detachment from people and emotions and intimacy, deep seated traumas, avoidance of anything he deems easy) is absolutely brilliant. the sex is out of this world and I will die on the bdsm hill; the sex is so good it hooked my on dacryphilia and I can never go back. also, it caters to my undying attachment to ronan's catholism, weaves his devotion into their sexual dynamic expertly, and keeps it all in character throughout. -

Adam shook his head, both to stop both of them talking and to clear it of some of the haze he still felt caught in. “I never needed him to be in jail or pay a huge fine to me or anything like that,” Adam said, surprised at how soft his own voice was. “That’s never been what I…what this was about.” Ronan responded with a noise somewhere between a growl and a scoff.
“…What did you want, then, Adam?” Gansey asked.
(Post-trial missing scene, featuring Ronan and Gansey being very good friends and Adam getting the top of the bottle he's been shoving a lot of emotions into ripped off whether he likes it or not. 50% dissociating, 50% crying, 100% Adam realizing he's loved)
