If there is one thing Bitty knows, it's butter. He knows it intimately: just how much to add to a crust for maximum flakiness, how little you actually needed to grease a cake pan, how different fat contents affect a recipe. He has his favorite – of course, Cabot supremacy – but he’s also a firm believer in ‘the best butter in the world is the butter you have.’ The look of mingled despair and fondness when he’d said that to Jack had Bitty giggling for so long that his stomach hurt.

Summary
The chill of the cement at his back wakes him a little before dawn. He starts to shift to relieve some of the soreness in his limbs but freezes when he registers a warm weight across his shoulders and along his side. It seems that sometime during the night Jack threw his arm over Bitty’s shoulders and pulled him close. Bitty can feel every rise and fall of Jack’s chest beneath his cheek.
As part of Bitty freaks out about the amount of contact they have right now, the other part of Bitty wonders.
