Summary

And with nowhere else to go, you take it.As a citizen of Mondstadt running away from a life you once new, you take up residence in a cottage in the Whispering Woods trying to escape a fate that was forced upon you. Yet one fateful night, a red haired stranger lights fire to those plans, burning them into nothing but ash. With little left in your savings, you are faced with the decision to either go back home or move into the mansion of the guilt ridden stranger and his icy cold step-brother.
A slow-burn romance where the brothers use you to get back at each other and maybe make up? Who knows, follow along and you'll maybe find out.

Panes of glass surrounded him on all sides, the space hardly large enough to stretch out his tail. Even though he was regarded as smaller among his kind, it was still a tight squeeze, but he made it work. Had to make it work, considering it was all Aventurine was provided.
It was hard to tell how long he’s been here, the days rolling over into the weeks. Or at least that is what he’s gathered, having lost track of time long ago.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this…Merman Aventurine was captured by pirates and managed to escape into the arms of the local lighthouse keeper, Veritas Ratio. A merventurine fic based off of the genius artwork of havanillas.
