Roy Mustang's words were laced with a thoughtful hum, and Edward tried not to feel hurt by the misassumption. Many heard his title and assumed it came down to his automail arm and leg. Ed had just hoped the Colonel - after everything - would've been different; that Mustang would've looked past Edward's ill-fitting uniform and cripplingly-heavy automail and only see him as a person.
''But,'' Mustang continued, pensive, ''I think they spelled your title wrong. You're not Fullmetal, you should be Fullmettle. As in, you are full of mettle.''
Edward blinked, utterly baffled.
''Mettle, kid. M-E-T-T-L-E.''
Mustang spelled it out for him. Literally. A genuine smile tugged at the Colonel's lips as he rumbled out a fleeting chuckle, affectionately sweeping a hand over the top of Edward's golden crown. The boy's throat constricted as an annoying warm blur suddenly invaded his vision. He had experienced more kind words and actions under this man's brief command than he had experienced in a long, long time.
It was just a shame that it was only a temporary arrangement.

Shinsou, who in the chaos had managed to slip away, returned with the pet carrier Aizawa used. “Quick! In the box!” He shouted as he slammed the carrier on the ground.
Kirishima placed him in the box after another attempted kiss. Midoriya swore to end his bloodline by eating his heart through his throat. Shinsou slammed the door shut.
Everyone, sans Kirishima, visibly relaxed.
“Holy crap.” Ochako finally said. “That was…”
“Interesting.” Tsuyu finished. “Ribbit.”
Ochako nodded.
Kouda signed an apology to Kirishima. Kirishima only sent a questioning look in response.
“Midoriya was turned into a rabbit.” Todoroki explained. “He doesn’t have human memories and is hellbent on making the sofa his bitch.”
He pointed to the sofa. Springs stuck out at odd angles and stuffing was spread almost evenly in a meter radius.
From inside the carrier, Midoriya sulked.
“That’s so manly!”
“Kirishima, I don’t think you’re using that word correctly. Ribbit.”

oh this is so good its a cass pov before she understands words and communication. she instantly adores tim in the 5 mins she meets him before she's face to face with batman and robin. some WONDERFUL additions in the end notes:
Anyway Bruce tries for about .5 seconds to separate her from Tim so he can send Tim home, until Tim cheerfully reassures him that it's totally fine, his parents won't even notice he's gone for like two months, at which point Bruce goes "...hm." and gets to work on drafting two sets of adoption papers.
Also in this universe Jason never dies because Cass notices something's up before he ever gets a chance to run off to Ethiopia, and also his relationship with Bruce is already better because Cass is in the habit of getting in the middle of their fights and biting Bruce whenever he's being an ass. It's the effective behavior modification technique that Bruce needs in his life <333

2. Highlight the tags in pretty colors! Or bold, or hide them!
3. Block mega-crossovers with a million different fandoms
4. Select for/block fics that are completed/rated something/have a certain category/don't have summaries
5. Block everything that doesn't have a certain tag, or one of a list of tags
6. Block orphan_account and tag block by author
7. Block only tags of specific types (fandoms, relationships, freeforms, etc.)
8. Block fics focused on a list of characters, and/or fics without any tags of a specific type
9. Block every pairing with two characters in it—case insensitive, any order, no matter how many other people are also in the tag

Edward Elric hoped he could retire from military service in peace, traveling Amestris while his brother Alphonse went to Xing. This is put on hold when now-Führer Mustang asks him to travel to the Outside, to the world beyond that was barricaded for centuries after the development of something called ‘Quirks’. A soldier has been killed and Amestris needs to know more about the Outside.
