Summary
Thing was, Danny was tired. But who could blame him for his shot reaction time?
He was the sole protector of the town who could go toe-to-toe with some of the heaviest hitting ghosts in the zone, so he couldn't just spread out the ghost fighting to Sam and Tucker. Sure they helped a lot, but ultimately it was up to Danny to keep the ghosts out of Amity Park.
So sometimes, he got lazy. He didn't really pay attention to his surroundings, relying on memory to trek the familiar walk home from school to home. He relied heavily on his ghost sense to keep an eye out for an attack.
And that's why the hand that pulled him to one side got him so easily.
Danny was good at adapting! So he just had to adapt to this new and weird world, and hope that he could find a way to beat up one (1) villain, return his kidnapper's quirk to them, then get home before anyone even notices that he was gone for days to possibly even months! Easy.
...Yeah, he didn't think so either.

It really would be anticlimactic for him to die this way.
After all Ed had survived through, all that he'd persevered through and fought for, it was all going to end like this. And there wasn't a single thing that he'd be able to do about it, except hope and hell, he'd even pray that someone noticed him being abducted and reported it.

Since becoming Ladybug, Marinette had been put through the wringer in terms of what her body had to endure. There probably hadn't been an akuma out there that didn't hurt her in some way because of their powers. A lot of those powers weren't physical like having to say mean things about those she loved, or hearing mean things to her from them.
But there were a lot that had physical powers, or their appearances made it so that they could hurt her in such a way.

Izuku needs to get away from a system indifferent to his struggles and from the presence of UA, physically and tortuously close but crushingly unobtainable. He needs a chance to recover from this latest, devastating blow or Inko fears she’ll lose him completely.
In desperation, she reaches out to the only family she really has left. Her mother had a sister who moved to China and married a man named Cheng. Their daughter, Inko’s cousin, moved from China to France years ago and married a baker there. They themselves had a daughter who was Izuku’s age. Hopefully that would be far enough.
Sabine’s daughter was Quirkless, like Izuku.
… that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have superpowers though.

A week later and people began to take notice. After a statistically improbable week without a single death, people took notice. After deadly wounds were shrugged off like nothing, people took notice. Time passed and still no one could die. When the city of Musutafu became engulfed in the phenomenon dubbed 'The Zone', people were wary. No one could uncover what caused The Zone. It was an unknown, some claimed. It went against the laws of the world, some claimed. It was profitable, others claimed.
Humans adapt. It's what they do. When faced with the bizarre, humanity adapts. The strange becomes mundane.
The rest of the world looks on in horror.
Izuku's quirk emits a massive no-kill zone around him. This has consequences.

If you can stomach the gore and psychological horror, this fic is hands DOWN one of the most FASCINATING piece of worldbuilding I've ever read. It takes things to the extreme and really breaks down every single aspect of what would change in a world with no death. It supplies things that make my stomach turn but my brain thrive on how fascinating it is. Every time I pass over and decide not to reread this fic, I do a disservice to myself as when I eventually do I fall in love all over again with this fic. The mentality of Zone residents is just...so brilliant and-- I literally cannot encapsulate into words all the things that I adore about this fic. All I can offer is a huge enthusiastic: if you can stomach gore and psychological horror then this fic is a must to read.

If I Only Had a Heart by LunartheDragon
Injured in an accident when he was young, Izuku lost his arm, eye and damaged his spine, disabling him for life. As a young inventor, Izuku turns to improving his life, due to the monetary costs of Izuku's recovery and assistive devices, the Midoriyas have to move, where they move in next door to Aizawa. At Izuku's new school he reclutantly befriends a loud quirkless girl named Mashi who quickly becomes one of his closest friends. Though they struggle, Izuku and Bakugou grow to become closer after a rocky start.
