Maria’s 1st year of marriage. This is a sequel to my Honeymoon fic. This is my first AU as it’s not completely canon with the 1965 Sound of Music. It is my view of what life at the Villa could have been like for Maria before the Anschluss. To keep in sequence with my other stories, this will still take place in Salzburg, Austria, in the last Golden Days of the Thirties, specifically after the wedding scene of the movie, the Anschluss just has not happened quite yet (I tried to put myself in the shoes of a 1930’s catholic Austrian). The names and number of children will also be canon to the movie. The Captain and Maria look like Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. Plummer investigated the history of his character and Andrews had said she wanted to make the original Maria proud so I too will try to be respectful of the individuals in which these characters were based on. I personally am not Catholic so if I get anything wrong in that respect, please accept my advance apologies and feel free to let me know in the comments as I am always eager to learn.
