Megatron hadn’t intended to offend the highest religious institution on Cybertron. Orain Pax hadn’t intended to acquire Megatron as a personal guard. Maybe Primus just hates them both.
Or maybe Megatron is the personal champion Orion needs to survive his new role as Prima’s disciple. Maybe Orion is the guiding light Megatron needs to keep his rage in check. Will their begrudging union grow into that of a Prime and Lord High Protector? Will they survive long enough to find out?

His clawed digits resting gently on the screen. There was always a barrier between them Tarn thought to himself, his hand recoiling back into a fist balling as his digits dug into his servos as viscous pink began to trickle down it.
It couldn't be, he brought a hand up to his faceplat worming his claws underneath as his spark ran cold for a second. He was burning up, he couldn't see it now a fact he was grateful for because if he could he would have seen a deep purple flush, that of lust and longing.
Tarn threw his datapad at a far wall and began doing a round of mode drills to take his mind off it which he continued well into the night as his struts ached and his pistons ground to the nubs. Just out of his feild of view, the datapad remained. Thought its screen was cracked it held on a single frame if a single topic, the blue mech of his desire from behind, laying on his front, arched spinal strut looking over his shoulder at him. Gold cursive giving the game away...

D-16 stares incredulously down at Orion, expectation filling his optics and frame threatening to sizzle and release hot puffs of steam with anticipation. “Okay. Listen. Alright. What if… what if—”
D-16 braces himself, a smile already crawling onto his faceplate, wind whistling in his audials.
Orion bounces back up excitedly, gesturing his servos to the screen behind him. “—tomorrow, we ran in the Iacon 5000! Huh?”
Orion Pax finds a love poem in the Archives, and D-16 misunderstands his intentions. A miscommunicated proposal ensues.

D-16’s question hangs in the air, precarious – that is, for all of two seconds before Orion takes D-16’s servo in his. His optics briefly glance away before meeting him with all their warmth.
“Yeah, I do.”
D-16’s jaw drops while he tries to backpedal, to hide a confession he has never been ready to make. “Uh, I didn’t mean it like that. Y–You know ‘love’ as in like friends do and all, and that, and yeah I’m– I’m gonna stop talking now.”
Orion laughs, warm, and not at all awkward, and like he knows what D-16 really means. He brings D-16’s heavy servo to his intake and does not kiss it. Somehow, it feels like a promise.
Or: D-16 and Orion Pax spend a night star-gazing shortly after the Iacon 5000. The next morning, they wake as Megatron and Optimus Prime.

D-16 really, really needs to catch up. He's pretty sure it's becoming a competition now and he’s always been quite the competitive mech. There's a reason he's always atop the leaderboard in their sector, and it's not just because he's good.
Or: D-16 and Orion Pax compete to see who can fluster the other the most; D-16 has a nightmare and Orion comforts him.
