Griffith is livid and wants to kill Casca but Charlotte told him death is too easy for Casca. So instead Griffith decided to turn Casca into a vessel to spill out his pain and humiliation he still feels and carries inside of him because of Gennon.
Claudius, Griffith's brother, whom Griffith never liked turned out to be usefull, finally. Claudius is skillfully at full destruction of female will through drugs, hypnosis and psychological violence. Griffith and Charlotte, initially disgusted at Claudius, eventually put him to a perfect use, for Guts it becomes an absolute, devastating psychological trigger.
