Summary
Everyone on the coast of Long Beach was terrified of Mike's kind. Living at the edge of the ocean, violent, ravenous creatures lived as sea monsters. Eyes like a cat's, claws meant for ripping skin apart, iridescent scales that yet hid in the dark so seamlessly, tails pushing them so far you could never out-swim them, and teeth that could tear right through bone.
But Will loved watching them over the edge of the boat, just tall enough to keep him safe above the glittering yet so unknown waters. Watching the sirens pass, he was always fascinated by them. The perfect painting.
His parents grew stressed about his love for them, ever since he was a kid. But he knew to keep away from the "infested" waters.
Or did he...?

His webs. Are not. Working.
“Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck-”
He can feel tears pricking at his eyes and being blown away by the wind. The terror settles deeply into his bones, clawing into his gut and making itself known.
Usually, he can escape these things. A bit tired and sore, but still escaped them. But no, he just had to use all of his webs up in the fight without realizing.
Or, Will Byers is spiderman. Mike Wheeler is Mj. it goes about as well as you think it would.

Summary
At twenty-two, Mike’s life is far better than he ever thought it would be. He graduated from The University of Chicago in May, after getting his diploma in English, and his entire future being at his fingertips (something he always thought he would be terrified of) feels almost exhilarating.
He loves his apartment back in Chicago and it’s horrible winters, he loves his shitty car that’s dented to hell and back. He loves sitting at his typewriter as novel ideas flow from his fingertips. He loves that he finally did it, he escaped Hawkins. It’s something he’s proud of even four years later, because he left and grew into himself and didn’t become his goddamn father like he was always terrified he would. He loves that he healed enough to willingly return to his godawful hometown for his sister’s wedding.
More than anything else, he is completely and utterly in love with Will Byers.
And that is something his best friend can never, ever know.
OR: the party returns to hawkins for jonathan and nancy's wedding in 1993, and mike is sick of pining after his best friend from a distance

Summary

So what difference does it make when his step-sister reappears after disappearing to California as soon as they finished college? Who cares that Dustin might have a thing for her, and Mike is suddenly being a better roommate, and Lucas keeps giving him this look like he knows something no one else does?
Certainly not Will. That's for sure.

Hopefully they weren’t. Hopefully he could slip in quietly, make his way to the bathroom for a hot shower, and then crawl back onto the makeshift air mattress on Mike Wheeler’s floor, letting sleep take him somewhere else for a change.
Unfortunately for Will, things never went quite the way he planned. He was so close—he’d managed to open and shut the front door without a sound, the only light in the house coming from the stairwell. He took it as his cue, stepping carefully up the stairs, around the corner, and—
“Where have you been?”
Right into Mike.

Summary
The concept of what would happen after defeating Vecna hadn’t ever materialized in Will Byers’ head. And, now that he was living it, he kind of wished he’d been more prepared. Trying to hide his nightmares, the level of stoned he was, and his very, very new relationship with Mike Wheeler was nothing short of impossible with the wave of Religious Paranoia infecting Hawkins post-Upside-Down.
But who was he to complain? It could always be worse.

Summary
All in all, these five months and two weeks had completely, entirely, and unequivocally been the best time of Will's life. It wasn’t a hard standard to reach, considering the other 200-something months he’d lived, but it really couldn’t get better than Mike Wheeler buying you Thai food and calling you baby.
Well, maybe one thing; which was that Mike was changing.
Or, 5 times Mike discovers himself, one friend at a time, and once where he does it all by himself

Summary
There are three things Will and Mike learn on a random afternoon after high school graduation:
- Teen magazine quizzes are way more intense than expected.
- They are wildly unprepared for college.
- Taking advice from anonymous “fever confessions” is a terrible idea.Unfortunately, they only realize the third one after they’ve already started acting on the first two.
Or:
Will and Mike accidentally read a very inappropriate teen magazine and decide the best way to prepare for college is to practice being less inexperienced… on each other.

Summary
Mickey goes light-headed before the thought has even formed. Maybe that’s why she can't stop herself from blurting, "Are you wet?"
"Yeah," Willow says in a rush of exhaled breath, like she was waiting for Mickey to ask.
"Oh my god," Mickey says intelligently. "Holy shit."
Or,
When Mickey wears boxers for the first time, Willow learns to ask for what she wants.

“You do like it,” Mike teases. “I can tell.”
“Obviously,” Will huffs. “You know what I like.”
Mike does. What a surreal feeling it is, to be the one who knows what Will likes. What makes him blush, or shy away. What turns him on. To be the only one who knows these things.
“Yeah,” Mike says softly. “I know.”

Will becomes the patron saint of pretending to sleep with guys to help them come out of the closet. Mike isn’t exactly thrilled with the situation.

Will,
I found this old journal of yours when I was looking for photos to put in your grad album for tomorrow. I thought you would want it. Maybe you’ll find some old drawings!

"I know stalker was mine." Max poked Lucas in the ribs with her finger, making him yelp. Then she waved her hand at Mike and El. "And Mike and El were each other's first kiss. So I had to ask you, Dustin."
"El wasn't my first kiss."
For a second, Mike couldn't believe he'd said it. But he had. Five pairs of eyes swiveled to him, including his ex-girlfriend and his crush slash best friend.

aka the one where Mike accidentally admits to the Party that El wasn't his first kiss, it was Will. Title from Mine by Taylor Swift since I wrote this whole thing just listening to Speak Now.

Summary
"Working at the cafe has its ups and downs. For example, free smoothies, good. Annoying customers, bad. Will Byers, good. Will Byers, bad. In the few months since getting this job, Mike has maybe, just slightly, developed a huge crush on his coworker. In his defense, Will just makes it so easy. Shiny brown hair, shinier eyes, and the shiniest smile. Mike is so down bad that he can’t even think of another adjective. Will turns his head, and his silver hoop earring glints in the sun. Shiny. Mike thinks about quitting on the spot. He’d throw his apron on the ground and everything, really make a show of it. Maybe that’ll get Will’s attention. God, he’s a loser."

Until Willow lets her.

Summary
“No!” Mike exclaimed, “Holly, I’m not marrying him!”
“Why?” Holly whined, as Mike tried to walk away. She threw both arms around his legs and sank to the floor, sitting on his feet so that it was extremely difficult to walk.
“Because,” said Mike, trying to free himself from her grip by shaking his legs. She only held on tighter.
“But he’s so amazing,” said Holly, as Mike shuffled his feet slowly when he realised she would not be relinquishing her hold on him anytime soon. He dragged her into the hallway so he could put on his coat. “He’s the best, most incrediblest, most fantastic babysitter in the whole world! You should marry him!”
Or; Will Byers, well-known as an outcasted freak at Hawkins High, is Holly Wheeler’s babysitter, and perhaps the loveliest person Mike has ever met.
