His gaze drifts around the common room, searching for anything to occupy him. That’s when something near the coffee table catches his eye.
A rubber chew toy.
Dick stares at it for a moment before huffing out a quiet laugh. Of course Wally forgot about it.
Honestly, Dick isn't even surprised anymore. If Wally wasn't leaving hoodies draped over the backs of chairs or half-empty mugs on the kitchen counter, he was forgetting chew toys.
He nudges it under the coffee table with his foot, fully intending to remind Wally about it later.
Wally finds his chew toy used. Dick was the only one in the Tower.

Dick huffs out a small laugh. “Then let's get to it,” he says, pushing to his feet. “Should we do it here or in your room?”
“Bedroom,” Wally replies almost immediately, like he already thought about it beforehand. “More privacy. Makes them feel safer.”
“You’d be the perfect mate,” Dick blurts out before he can stop himself.
The tip of Wally’s ears turns impossibly pink now.
Perfect mate, his omega purrs.
Dick swallows around the lump in his throat.
Just not ours.
His omega wilts with a quiet whimper.
Dick helps Wally build a nest for an omega he’s courting.

Summary
“None of you are helping right now,” Tim all but whines as Kon mouths at his clothed neck. Tim just hopes Kon’s still coherent enough to not do anything even more mortifying in front of Bruce and his brothers. But… judging by the way he’s been humping Tim’s leg like a dog in heat… probably not. “What do I do? Do I actually help him or just… leave him be?”
“I’m sure Bruce can help you with that,” Dick answers, the corner of his lips twitching. “He’s surprisingly experienced with Kryptonians.”
Bruce shoots Dick a glare.
“What?” Dick raises his hands, the picture of innocence. “Did you really think eight-year-old me wouldn't find out?”
“Tim,” Kon whines again, his fingers trying to sneak beneath Tim’s suit. Tim slaps his hand away. “Baby. Princess. C’mon… please? Can we go now?”
Once Kon is back to normal, Tim is going to drill the importance of not throwing himself in front of mysterious pink substances into his head.
God, he sounds like Bruce now.
Ew.
Kon gets himself into a little mishap and Tim is his target.

Summary
In Dick’s embrace, he can almost forget how much it hurts.
Almost.
Wally swallows hard and pulls away just enough to look at Dick while resisting the urge to bury his face in Dick’s neck forever.
“Dick…”
“Yeah?”
Wally chews on his bottom lip, suddenly reconsidering. Dick doesn't push. He never does. He simply waits, patient as ever, until Wally finally blurts out—
“Linda broke up with me.”
After Linda breaks up with Wally, Dick is there to pick up the pieces.

One frame in particular catches his eye.
Wally is grinning in a tuxedo, a woman tucked against his side in white. And there, standing beside them with one hand on Wally’s shoulder and a champagne glass in the other, is Dick.
Best man.
Dick stares at the photo, pulse roaring in his ears.
It’s not just any woman.
Linda.
Wally’s ex.
No.
No, no, no.
It can’t be.
Can it?
Something happened.
Something has to have happened.
Wait.
He got hit last night on patrol.
By some kind of ray gun that looked like it belonged to Buzz Lightyear— and Nightwing had a hard time keeping it together at the time— but nothing really did happen immediately except for the migraine pounding behind his eyes. He’d just assumed the thing was defective.
So is this some kind of nightmare?
Or had he somehow woken up in a world that had never been his to begin with?
Dick wakes up in an alternate universe where Wally isn't his.
