“Είχα σκεφτεί κάτι να σου αναθέσω ως πρόφαση, αλλά το ξέχασα.” Ο Παυρινός είπε, σαν να μιλούσε σε τρίτο πρόσωπο και όχι ευθέως στον Ανδρέα, “Αλλά μετά αναλογίστηκα ότι δεν χρειάζομαι πρόφαση δουλειάς για να σε δω. Έτσι δεν είναι;”
Για πρώτη φορά εκείνη την νύχτα, ο Ανδρέας συνάντησε την ματιά του Παυρινού με επίμονη ανάλυση, τα γαλανά του αφεντικού του δυσκολεύονταν να συγκεντρωθούν.
“Πόσο έχετε πιει;” Ο Ανδρέας ρώτησε με καχυποψία.
“Μου αρέσει που ακόμα μου μιλάς στον πληθυντικό.” Προτίμησε να απαντήσει ο Παυρινός, με το ίδιο αλαζονικό χαμόγελο στα χείλη του. Ο τόνος του τέτοιος που αποκάλυπτε την απόλυτη σιγουριά που είχε για τον εαυτό του. Σαν ο ίδιος ο κόσμος να του χρωστούσε κάτι.
Ή: Ο Ανδρέας για πρώτη φορά για καιρό πείθετε από τον Νίκο να βγουν για ποτάκι. Φυσικά όλα διαλύονται από ενα μοιραίο τηλεφώνημα από τον Προφυπουργού Άρη Παυρινού. Ο οποίος συμπεριφέρεται αξιοπερίεργα.
