Charlie watched his baby sister's vardo burn to the ground. He watched while strangers raked her ashes clean of melted gold and various things and returned those ashes in a porcelain urn for interment next to his mother. His father's ashes are not nearly so clean.

Keeping Adam trapped in an enclosed space stuck with Sam's voice and hands. Stuck with a want that coiled hotter than Hell itself. He needed space before he snapped and ruined everything.

‘They’re beautiful, aren’t they mon cher?’ Lestat whispered in awe over his shoulder. He gently placed a hand on the small of Louis’s back, a normal domestic gesture Louis had worked hard to forget but with little success, it seemed.
Louis’s eyes shuttered the second he heard Lestat’s voice. He took another sharp intake of breath that had nothing to do with the pyramids laid out in front of him.
Just like in Paris, he could feel a shadow of the man’s presence, and, faintly (achingly), smell his scent as tendrils of blonde hair swept across his shoulders as he turned his head to look at Louis. That bastard white devil always used to spritz his perfume into his hair, knowing full well what it did to Louis when he could smell it every time Lestat tilted his head, or turned his neck slightly.
As their eyes locked, ethereal green on blue, Louis could sense that he was absolutely royally unequivocally fucked for the rest of his existence.

What if Louis started seeing Dream!Stat almost immediately after Paris? And what if his hallucinations only got more intense after that?
