Summary
“Tristan.” He let the name linger on his tongue, smooth across his palate not unlike the wine. “Do you know how impressive that is?”
The remains of Tristan’s shield gave an involuntary jolt, a pulse of emotion brutal and sharp as it was intoxicating.
Callum was suddenly reminded that supper had been a light meal, neglecting to satisfy. His forgotten appetite seemed to reawaken, splitting open his core with visceral hunger.
-
The knife scene if instead of influencing Tristan to feel his worst emotions, Callum had gone all-in with Tristan's need for validation and praise (⸝⸝๑ ̫ ๑⸝⸝⸝)

Summary
Callum’s fingers curled around his jaw, claiming his gaze with unexpected ferocity. Tristan’s pulse spiked, never one for sudden movement. His blood rushed as Callum scrutinized him, searching for an answer to an unspoken question—no, demand. Tristan felt pinned down, dissected, split and exposed. The tension was so palpable that when Callum’s displeasure seeped into his expression, Tristan nearly flinched. Callum noticed, of course he did. His expression smoothed over, softening almost, if that was possible.
“You haven’t been sleeping,” Callum murmured, brushing his fingers over the bone of Tristan’s cheek as if he were precious, a heirloom to be treated with care.

Tristan, while in the midst of debating his sanity, is paid a visit by temptation...
(Basically, what if during Book 1 - Part V: Time, some nebulous moment before Parisa gave her ominous warning about Callum's intentions, Callum himself ventured into Tristan's room and incidentally pled his case)

Summary
This is not a tragedy.
1993, the apple falls from the tree. You may know him as the beautiful, wealthy and eerily charming Callum Nova. His gaze was hypnotic, his features were compelling and his attention was sweet as a needle to the vein. But this creature was missing one key component to life: a comprehension of love. And he was hungry for an answer.
Told through poetic verse, prose and journal entries, "He keeps a knife in his pocket and peels an apple right in front of you" is a story of one person's search for love throughout his life. From the darkened shadows of Cape Town's luxury homes to the dining room of The Alexandrian Society, twisted and deprived characters—neurotic princesses, starving beasts and sacrificial sons—attempt to understand love and if it makes life worth living.

Summary
Roy's life is frankly shit. Stuck in a dead-end job and plagued with what she claims to be a "curse" she is begging for the fairytales of her childhood to ruthlessly end her suffering. Her situation escalates when two strange patrons enter her coffee hellscape. One is flamboyant, the other is reserved. One won't stop flirting, the other won't stop insulting. One is philosophizing about life's meaning, the other has given up. What she isn't aware of is that they both will change her life and even each other's. That is if they can stop being sarcastic for more than a minute.

Summary
Scott giggled and then, upon realizing that Owen was serious, started laughing.
“What's so funny?” Owen demanded, abandoning the work all together.
“You are, of course,” Scott responded, grinning sharply, “That's funny, that you think that. No, Owen, I will not be helping with the construction. That's your job. If you need my opinion on something, by all means, I’ll happily give it; but vampire lords don't build their own castles.”
---------
Or Owen and Scott have very different ideas about the hierarchy within the coven, So Scott gets Pyro and Shelby to help with showing Owen just what being in a coven entails.

Summary
He pulled away from Owen, turning unerringly to look at where he heard the sounds. Too many for deer, and too clumsy. Humans— no vampire would be heard walking through the forest.
Owen heard it at the same moment Louis did, a growl pouring from him that was so cold and furious that it sent a shiver down Louis' spine, his body becoming tense as a cat about to leap.
"Transform," Louis commanded, and Owen turned his eyes from the treeline to him, looking shocked. His mouth was still pulled into a snarl, brows drawn together indignantly.
"What? No—"
Louis tightened his grip on Owen's hair, and put a thrum in his voice that he did not want to use. "Transform, now."

Summary
Owen had been drunk enough to be pleasantly swimming, eyes blinking languidly— he wasn’t going to turn down free wine, especially from the Goldsmith cellars. But at the sight of Pyro crawling into Scott’s lap with no sense of propriety, he had sat straight and cold and sober, heat rushing to his bloodless face and fingers tightening on his goblet.
Scott had looked… smug, was the only word for it, pulling Pyro’s head down to rest against his shoulder, and indulgently bringing his hand up to run through his fledglings dark hair. Owen found his eyes drawn helplessly to the motion, fingers cold and stiff where they were clenched on the goblet and the table surface, pupils dilated in the dim candle flicker light of the formerly grand banquet hall. Scott had made eye contact with him, his smile slow and sharp. A bare flicker of pointed white teeth flashed on his bottom lip as Pyro let out a content sigh and relaxed, half on Scott’s lap, and half tucked onto the grand chair Scott had positioned at the head of the table.

Summary
Absently, he checks his cape where Pyro’s claws had been before letting it fall again.
“There may be one thing,” Scott says.
“Yes? Anything.”

Summary
"My, you have been busy," Scott said, and Legundo did not look at Scott's eyes— shut them in fact, when Scott grabbed his chin and forced his face forward. He could smell that cold breath now, like a funeral parlor, and pulled away with a grimace, hand moving to his belt—
Scott snatched that up as well, and with a twist and a surge of inhuman strength, pressed Legundo flat to the table. His breath left him in a rush, and Scott laughed.
Scott was shorter than Legundo, and much lighter as well. The only thing keeping him planted on the ground was his own body weight, and Legundo had the advantage of leverage.
He still had a hand free. Legundo grabbed on to the collar of Scott's elegant coat, and put a knee into the vampire's stomach. He had the satisfaction of seeing surprise in Scott's eyes— before he was handily thrown clean off of Legundo, and over the far side of the table.
He would not get the element of surprise again.
(Or; Legundo gets bit by EVERY Vampire at some point or another, for varying reasons.)
