Summary
When the first photo slid out, Dazai’s breath caught in his throat before he even realized he’d stopped breathing. At first, his eyes only registered the familiar face framed by unmistakable ginger hair, before he took in the rest: his own figure, hand-in-hand with the ginger.
Then the meaning landed, and his jaw tightened. Someone had crossed a line. They had intruded into his life and touched the one place he kept guarded at all costs.

Dazai’s breath hitched, and his eyes widened in disbelief. “No, you can’t—”
Then he felt it—something like a subtle shift somewhere inside him. He couldn’t pinpoint where the sensation started or ended, but it was there. And just as quickly as it happened, it went away, as if it had already sealed itself in him, became a part of him.
“What did you just do to me?” he asked, the words barely making it past his throat, more accusation than question.
“Saved you. You’ll probably hate me for it, but that’s what it was.”
or, Vampire!Chuuya finds Dazai on the verge of death, and uses mind compulsion to make him unable to try to end his life ever again. After that, he disappears, leaving Dazai alone for two years of nothing but hatred and resentment toward the vampire who violated his will and trapped him in the pathetic existence people call life. Until, when Chuuya’s the one in need of help, their paths cross again.

“He laughed all the way back,” Chuuya muttered, voice muffled against the table. “And in the end, he still came up with a plan to finish the mission perfectly. Fucking asshole.”
He lifted his head again, blinking blearily at the others. Their expressions were dead serious now—awkward, even. Hirotsu stared into his drink like it might offer him a way out of the moment. Chuuya frowned. What was up with them?
“Why aren’t you laughing?” Chuuya asked, his voice slightly slurred. “You always do. Make fun of me for bringing up this idiot at every meeting.”
Tachihara opened his mouth to say something, but closed it just as quickly.
“Right,” Chuuya let out a dry laugh, downing another glass. “It’s because he’s dead, isn’t he?"
or, for two years, chuuya thinks dazai is dead after he leaves the mafia.
