“Is that the giant Pikachu Pokémon gifted you?” Jake asked, shifting his body to peer over Jay’s shoulder. It was and Jake wasn’t sure how he missed it earlier when it was so fucking big and yellow.
“Yeah, I finally remembered to take it from the car,” Jay sleepily replied, the day and night activities taking their toll on him. “It’s a great toy to hug.”
It was ridiculous but Jake felt that the pitch black eyes of the Pikachu stuffed toy were too much, almost as if looking into his soul. And the size! Isn’t it too big? Why would Jay need it when he already has Jake in his bed? No, wait, was he seriously complaining about a toy?

It’s not that he had never been gentle with Jongseong— it’s just that the gentleness between them didn’t come as easily as the gentleness Heeseung was capable of reciprocating to the others.
Tenderness didn’t come easy when they have known each other for so long— when they’ve met when Heeseung hasn’t yet mastered wearing apathy like armor. When they’ve met when Heeseung was the worst combination of earnest, ambitious, and hungry. When Jongseong had been more of a mirror than a friend.
But like this. With Jongseong’s eyes half closed. With his shirt stretched far into his right shoulder, showing off his birthmark, his neck, his collarbones. With Jongseong finding him in his sleep once again— meek, pliant, and expectant.
With Jongseong in the softest version of himself, Heeseung finds it easier than it has ever been— to place a hand on the small of his back, the worst combination of a bit gentle and a bit possessive. He pushes ever so slightly, “let's get you back to bed, sweetheart?”
Jay turned his head so fast, Heeseung was sure it hurt, “what?”

His arms were wrapped around securely around the stranger’s upper body, with the stranger’s head buried into Heeseung’s chest. In turn, the stranger’s arms were circling his bare waist where his shirt had ridden up through the night. Their legs were tangled under the sheets, and Heeseung did not dare to move.

And that was the crux of the problem, wasn’t it?

“Be careful with those, hyung,” he said, taking a sip of his hot chocolate. “I heard it’s really easy to overdose with them.”
Guilt welled in his stomach, settling like a rock. “I will, Jisung-ah,” he lied. “Hyung promises.”

Chan is ready to end it all when he— quite literally— bumps into a frantic Jisung who gives him a reason to stick around a bit longer. Before he knows it, Chan has a whole group of people he would die for instead of in spite of.
