Bucky wanders in just as she’s sitting down to eat. “You wanna have a Teen Wolf marathon when you’re done eating?”
Nat pauses halfway through cutting her yolk. “Maybe,” she says. “Will you get me some grapes?”
“Grapes are gone,” Bucky says. “Stevie and I demolished ‘em this morning. Sam helped.”
“I had a single cluster,” Sam insists. “Those two will eat just to eat, I swear.”
Bucky turns his puppy dog eyes on full blast. “But all I had was nutrient slurry through a tube for eighty years. Aren’t you glad I get to enjoy food to the fullest, Sammy?”

“Get in bed, Sam,” Bucky says, his arm grabbing for Sam’s. “Stevie’s gotta wait for you, and you can’t keep our best guy waiting.”
Steve blushes a little, and it’s the fucking cutest thing, the way he blushes when Bucky calls him “our best guy.” Sam kisses him just for that, and when he pulls away, Steve is smiling like he’s going to put the sun to shame.
“Shut up,” Sam says, but climbs in and scoots over so Bucky’s arm is slung over him and Steve has space to get in on his side.
Steve blushes a lot, Bucky fucking loves Costco, and Sam is trying to figure out exactly what the hell Natasha Romanoff might be feeling.

He won’t look away from her and she is about to get up and move just so she can shift the weight of his gaze. She shifts her body weight forward, but at that moment, he leans in.
“You should not play games with your prey, my lady. It’s impolite.”
And then he is gone and she is left to stare at the settee where he was a moment ago. She can smell a faint whiff of his cologne and remember the cut of his cheekbones; how brown his eyes were and the shape of his mouth as he spoke.

He flips Neil’s phone open and scrolls through the call history. It’s not a long list; his own name is at the bottom, then there’s a call from Nicky one from Dan. There’s an outgoing call from Neil’s phone to Andrew’s – that day they went to Atlanta – and one to a number that isn’t saved but that Andrew recognises as Bee’s.
And then there’s a call from an unknown number, no more than an hour ago.
He wants to call it. He wants to call it and demand where Neil is, wants to find out whoever the number belongs to and bash their head into a wall, break every bone in their body until Neil is back with them.
