Andrea shifted her entire weight, sliding sideways until she was perched on Nellie’s lap. Her hand found the nape of Nellie’s neck, fingers curling into her hair.
The skirt rode up precariously, the hem hovering just an inch above the edge of Andrea’s underwear, leaving her almost exposed.
“Can I put my hand on your thigh?”
Andrea’s gaze locked onto hers, nodding. Nellie tentatively placed her palm against the side of Andrea’s thigh, feeling the warmth of her skin. But Andrea didn’t seem satisfied with the tentative touch. Her lips brushed against Nellie's ear as she murmured, “Higher.”
Or: Nellie and Andrea having crazy lesbian sex.

Nicky's bringing his fiancé, which means Luther is gonna make the day hell for him. Again.
Not that Andrew cares. If Andrew cared, he'd bring someone even worse to take attention off his cousin. But he doesn't.
He has, however, been looking for a reason to talk to his definitely-criminal neighbor...
And really, what better opening line than to invite him to a family funeral?
Or: Some guy died, and the Hemmicks are holding the memorial. Nicky's bringing Erik, and Andrew needs someone to distract a small army of conservative Christians from hurting his cousin even more than they already have. The neighbor he's never talked to before seems like a reasonable choice.

“It’s a sex towel.”
Individually, the words have meaning. Neil parses through them one at a time, trying to find where they fit together to create a larger whole. He glances down at Andrew’s fingers curled in his shirt, stretching the already thin fabric. Looking up means meeting Andrew’s eyes straight-on, making his stomach swoop at all the flecks of gold and green picked out among honey brown.
He shakes off his distraction and tries to make sense of what Andrew has said.
“You think this towel is sexy?”
While folding laundry, Neil is reminded he has earned a life without struggle. If only Andrew would say so in a way he can understand.

Summary
Neil is objectively hot. Andrew has always known this, from the day he smacked his racquet into Neil’s stomach and watched that razor-sharp jaw tilt his way. Andrew is used to people turning and staring, and while some of them are doing it to gawk at Neil’s vicious scars, plenty of their eyes grow hungry and dark.
Normally, this is an ego boost for Andrew. He got Neil. Out of everyone, Neil chose Andrew. He’s maddeningly attractive, hopelessly interesting, and endlessly understanding, and Andrew gets to revel in that.
So, yes, it is a kick in the face when he stumbles across a tabloid questioning the relationship between Neil and their teammate.
OR: Andrew is jealous, but maybe Neil is, too.

Neil was both a regular and a proficient liar. Since his first day at Palmetto, he had been able to keep up with Andrew and his group’s endless ruses and schemes because of this fact. He knew that whatever was about to unfold would be another one of the enigmatic circle’s refined tricks.
However, he had no idea how the fuck Nicky was going to lie about going over 200 miles an hour when the speed limit was 70.Or, the monsters’ method for getting out of speeding tickets. Neil is very confused.

“Bee.” Andrew says, and Bee hums on the other line as Andrew figures out how to word this. “I think I asked Neil to marry me, and I don’t think he understood that’s what I was asking.” Andrew says, and Bee is quiet for a minute before finally replying.
“First of all, Andrew, I am so proud of you.” Bee says, emotions obvious in her voice. “I wasn’t sure you two were planning to go that route or not. You have come so incredibly far.” She says, and Andrew scoffs.
“Bee, get to second of all.” Andrew mumbles, and Bee laughs.

“And why do you think he didn’t understand that you were asking him?”
“Have you met him?” Andrew asks, and Bee laughs, but she tries to cover it up.
“I have, and I see your point.”
OR
Andrew proposes to Neil, but has no idea if Neil actually understands that's what happened or if he thought they were just having a conversation.

Neil groaned, "I am feeling targeted." He conceded, almost slurring his words, by taking a sip of his vodka soda.
"That is because you are being targeted, babes." Nicky said, taking a swig of his drink even though he has definitely not been to over 10 countries.

Andrew should have realized. He should have seen the angry stares, heard the aggressive whispers, and stopped them before they could actually do anything.
