It wasn’t that Ilya was jealous. It was just that…he sort of was.

It's finally the off-season, and Ilya cannot wait for a perfectly boring summer at the cottage with his perfectly boring husband.

    Shane, however, has other ideas.

(AKA Ilya gets jealous of a plant.)

“Mic’ing us up? Did I hear that right?” Hunter questions.

“Someone in PR thought it would be funny to hear the three of you during all of your games,” Coach LeClaire explains, “The idea got out and spread like wildfire.”

    “Huh,” Hunter responds.

“It would be funny to hear me,” Ilya corrects, “I am funny. The other two are boring.”

He hears Hollander huff out a laugh and bump shoulders with him as Hunter continues to ask questions. Casually glancing over to the other man, he sees a small smile playing at his lips. His eyes, though, there was a gleam that he hadn’t seen before. He wasn’t certain what it could mean, but it couldn’t be good for Ilya.

Or what if Shane had stayed with Ilya that night in Boston?

    Summary

Shane Hollander agrees to an arranged marriage because refusing could start a war. He expected a transactional relationship, minimal emotional involvement, and maybe some occasional awkward small talk.

Instead he gets a six-foot-three stupidly attractive Russian alpha who is apparently determined to follow Shane around campus like an overprotective guard dog.

meanwhile Ilya Rozanov was fully prepared for a spoiled, haughty omega.

But Shane was earnest, stole his cloths, cried over his gunshot wound, and called him mine in front of his father.

    Now Ilya’s a little obsessed.

[Inside the Ottawa Centaurs’ locker room, Harris Drover attaches a microphone to Shane Hollander’s shirt as Ilya Rozanov sits next to him at a table. The two prepare to share the contents of their backpacks, which sit on the table in front of them]

Shane: I thought when people did these interviews, they got to like, pick what’s in their bag beforehand. It’s not usually a spontaneous thing, is it?

Ilya: How would you know this?

Shane: I watched one that Rose did.

Ilya: Oh, of course you watched Rose doing one of these videos. Did she have a framed photo of you in her bag so she could gush about how much you love each other?

Shane: Do I seriously need to remind you that I chose to marry you, and that we live and work together, and Rose is just my friend I see like twice a year?

    Ilya: Yes.

Shane: Are you sure you want to do this with us, Harris?

Harris: I can’t help that the people love you. Besides, I’ve convinced myself this will be fun.

    Shane: That’s not very comforting.

Harris: Neither is the look on Ilya’s face that’s telling me I will definitely come to regret this, but that’s the job!

    Summary

"Front office is tightening the screws," Wiebe continued. "Since most of you treat a spreadsheet like ancient Sanskrit, management hired us a babysitter for the books. He’s traveling on the charter to audit our 'miscellaneous expenses.' And Young? That means no more $400 Pringles tabs." He gestured to the newcomer. "Meet Brendan, our new Senior Financial Liaison."

Brendan was... spectacular. He was the human equivalent of a beige wall. He wore a perfectly pressed polo tucked into sensible khakis, a Casio digital watch, and wire-rimmed glasses that practically screamed, 'I am excellent at filing taxes.' He was carrying a clipboard and a small Tupperware container of nuts.

"Hello, everyone," Brendan said, his voice a soothing, medium-pitch drone. "I’m Brendan. I’m looking forward to optimizing your per diems. It’s a pleasure to meet such... high-performance assets."
