Summary
Fifteen years after a mission killed the crew he loved most, former astronaut Robby agrees to train NASA's newest team for a trip to the moon.
The assignment is supposed to be professional, simple, and Robby promises himself he won't get attached to this crew like he did the others.
Instead, Robby finds himself drawn into the orbit of five astronauts carrying wounds of their own. Especially Dr. Whitaker, a quiet emergency physician from Nebraska who makes Robby want things he thought he'd buried long ago.
As launch day approaches, old superstitions, old grief, and the fear of surviving another disaster threatens to pull Robby apart.

She would’ve laughed in his face if she didn’t feel like this. Instead, she said, “I don’t feel comfortable answering that.”
He raised both brows at her.

Summary
It starts out as a first date, then develops into a weekend. Dennis usually doesn't put out on the first date, but this is new to him. Then back on Monday morning, they grapple with a sudden injury to one of their own, and Robby just needs to feel whole again.
“I… don't know where to start.” He laughed and exhaled.
“I feel bad about springing that kiss on you.”
Robby chuckled and gazed down at their hands now intertwined. The feeling that bubbled in his chest was one similar to the first crush he'd ever had. Warm but maddening, like he couldn't get enough of this high.

Summary
Santos is in a car accident after she and Whitaker have a fight. He rushes to the hospital to save her but Robby steps in to stop him.
Dennis spotted Dana as he jogged into the emergency room. “She’s heading up to the OR.” Dana yelled at him.
He nodded and headed towards the elevators.
“Where do you think you’re going?” She called after him.
“To help!”
“Oh for the love of— Robby! Whitaker’s gonna go help the OR with Santos.”
Dennis kept his head down as he marched into the elevator, and just as the doors closed, Robby slipped in.
He smelled of wintergreen and antiseptic.
Dennis leveled him with a stare and reached around Robby’s long body and pressed the button for the OR.
“You’re not gonna stop me.” Dennis said.

I could’ve called this: I’ve recently been like super stupid obsessed with the idea of firewatch towers and how people can just like do that as a job so much so that I’ve considered a major career change because of it, but I should probably go to therapy first before I decide any life changing career moves and figure out what the obsession is all about so until I can afford therapy, I’m just gonna write the same fanfic/character study over and over again until I get sick of it.
