And yet, he has known devotion his whole life: since his Master has entered his orbit, he has been entranced by his bright glow, by the fact that he seems to hold the entirety of the Light side of the Force into himself.
Anakin knows the Force has created him to worship the divine creature, the perfect Jedi that is Obi-Wan Kenobi. He knows, and yet he still fears of tainting what should remain perfectly pure.

“Master? Is that you?”
It’s too dark in the hole the blast has created for them to make out any details, but Obi-Wan can see a dark silhouette finally get to his feet a few feet away from him. The figure is too short, not quite lean enough, to be Anakin. Obi-Wan watches helplessly as Anakin – or should he say, himself – steps into the faint light emanating from the holocron.
There’s a long moment of silence, broken only by Anakin saying, voice still hoarse but distinctively Obi-Wan-esque, “What in sithhells is going on?”

The mission was supposed to be relatively simple. In-and-out. As easy as they come.
But when was anything ever easy for Anakin?
The correct answer: never. Force knows nothing could ever just be smooth-sailing for him, there always had to be some sort of complication - as shown by the fact that him and Obi-Wan were currently running for their lives from battle droids and blaster cannons on the coldest, iciest, most deserted planet Anakin had ever encountered. And all for a mission they only partially completed.
Or,
Anakin and Obi-Wan end up stranded in a cave on a freezing cold planet after trying to infiltrate a Seperatist base.

Obi-Wan doesn't say anything. He just lies there petting Anakin’s arm, touch so light that it could be chaste, in a universe where they were not tangled up together, naked, still sore from the night prior. Anakin used to worry Obi-Wan would let the guilt get the best of him and end this thing between them before it even really got started, but he’s come to realize over the last few weeks how weak his Master is, how truly and essentially compromised.
