“If you help me do this one thing I will never annoy you again,” Akabane pleads, “takes no effort on your part at all, just five seconds of your time, maybe ten. I will never put wasabi into your lunches or hide your pens or put your phone number down for mailing lists about pet products-”
“You still haven’t actually told me what you needed my help for,” Gakushuu points out.
“Asano,” Akabane takes a deep breath, “the principal wants me to give a talk to Kunugigaoka Middle School about the value of studying and hard work because I was a 3-E student that got first place.”
Or: Gakushuu and Karma write a speech. Like everything else they do, it never goes exactly as planned.

When his father sends him to E-class with a vague explanation and a Cat pun, Gakushuu thinks he'll keep his secret from everyone for as long as he can.
Hes only doubled down on this idea when Akabane Karma returns, because he refuses to go through the hell that will follow Karma knowing his secret.
But, the world apparently enjoys finding ways to fuck him over with as little lube as possible.
He needs more appropriate analogies.

At the start of their second term in Kunugigaoka High, the perfect opportunity for Akabane Karma to confess his love towards Asano Gakushuu tumbles straight into his hands. Karma takes it and all the risks that come alongside it, and heads to one of Sakakibara Ren's parties full of brazen confidence and visuals from dramas. Gakushuu heads to the party alongside him with one goal in mind: to experience the normal life of a teenager that he missed out on in his younger years.

Summary
Why does he do it? annoying him, angering him, making petty remarks, relentlessly teasing him, all for what? Oh right, All for his undivided attention. Karma craves attention, that's just who he is. Growing up with absent parents who barely bat him an eye, Karma thought that the only way to be noticed was to be an absolute menace, and..well...in a way he was right, people noticed him because of the reputation he built for himself as the violent, prankster delinquent of Kunogigaoka. For a while he was fine with that sort of attention, until he meets his academic rival Asano Gakushuu, the first person to stand against him, compete with him and almost won. Karma has made it his mission to annoy, frustrate, irritate, and pester his strawberry blonde rival, enjoying the attention he gets from him(no matter how bad the attention was he didn't care) that is until one day, Gakushuu just stops. He stops giving Karma what he wanted...his attention, he stops looking at Karma, yelling at him, talking to him. Karma is bothered, extremely bothered, but a question bothers him even more. "Why do you want his attention so badly?"

Karma Akabane opens one eye, then the other and mirrors Gakushuu's shocked expression for about two seconds before slowly breaking into a grin.
"Now, this... definitely won't be boring."
