Summary
Castiel has never felt sexual attraction or understood why everyone else seems to go wild over people they meet for the first time. When his mother pressures him towards finding a mate and settling down, Castiel’s friend Dean offers to arrange some dates for him. Since Castiel likes the thought of finding love, at least in theory, he agrees.
With Dean’s help, Castiel keeps going on first dates, trying to find the magic spark he thinks he's missing. What he finds may not be exactly what he was looking for.

“How the fuck do you know my name?” Dean hisses.
The man doesn’t look scared. He is watching Dean like there is nothing else worth watching, lips a little parted, eyes a little soft. And blue. Real blue, like the ocean on a postcard.
The ice spreading down Dean’s spine makes him shiver.
“I suppose you could say I’m your guardian angel,” the man murmurs. His breath fogs pale between them. All of him is unnaturally warm, like Dean’s touching somebody with the sun sewn up beneath their skin. “I have known you, Dean Winchester, for a very long time.”

To get custody of his five-year-old son Jack, Castiel enlists the help of Dean, his alpha roommate and best friend (with occasional benefits), to pose as his fiance. It's a foolproof plan really. People are always mistaking them for a couple for some reason, so why not use that to their advantage? Of course, there's the teensy problem that Castiel has been secretly in love with Dean for years, and playing a happy couple for however long it takes to get Jack back might just send him into full on pining sickness. But for Jack, he'll risk it.
