Exploding Head Syndrome (EHS) is a benign parasomnia characterized by the perception of loud, sudden noises—such as explosions, gunshots, or cymbal crashes—occurring during the transition between wakefulness and sleep. Despite being frightening and causing distress, it is generally harmless, painless, and not linked to dangerous physical injury or brain damage.
These patients sometimes take hours to fall asleep, always being awakened by something that is never truly there. Always waiting up for something, someone, that will never come.

Summary
When Master Skywalker is chosen to rescue Jabba the Hutt’s son from kidnappers, he unknowingly walks into the remnants of a trap set by a Sith who haunts the halls of Jabba’s palace in wait for him.
But even Obi-Wan, the young Sith betrayed by his masters and sold as a pleasure slave to the Hutts, isn’t sure what he wants from the Jedi Master anymore. The plan had been to trigger Skywalker’s Fall to the Dark side, but now Skywalker is Obi-Wan’s only hope for freedom. But how can he possibly convince the man to care about him enough to not abandon him at the end of his week-long mission?
After all, he’s never been able to do it before—convince someone to choose him, that is. The odds that Master Skywalker will be any different are slim to none.

Kirk's chair scraped against the polished metal floor as he stood abruptly, the sound harsh and jarring in the medical bay's controlled quiet. "I need some air," he said, his voice carefully controlled in a way that fooled absolutely no one present. The words came out too flat, too measured, the kind of tone someone used when they were barely holding themselves together.
He was halfway to the door, moving with the quick, purposeful stride of someone fleeing a disaster, when Spock's voice stopped him.
"Captain."
Kirk turned, and Spock was struck by the raw, desperate hope that flashed across his features — like a man dying of thirst who'd glimpsed what might be water on the horizon. For just a moment, his careful composure cracked entirely, and Spock could see the depths of his pain, his love, his desperate need for some sign that the man he'd bonded with still existed somewhere beneath the surface of amnesia.
