There's a long sigh. “You agreed to sponsor Sonya. To find her a proper match. This thing between us can't get in the way of that.”
And, just like that, Jessa’s expression shutters. “Is that what you want?”
“It doesn’t matter, Jessa.” Her eyes shine. “It just doesn’t.”
Jessa steps toward her, her hand raising to card through Yaz’s hair, uncharacteristically free. She threads her fingers through the dark curls, her other hand coming to brush under her chin, raising it. Jessa’s fingers move to her jaw, brushing against the hard angles, before migrating to her cheek, the supple touch on the curve of her cheekbones making Yaz gasp.
She is a Lady, Yaz, she tells herself. The Viscountess.
When Yasmin Khan's father dies, she only has one goal: find a husband for her sister to save her family from ruin. So, when family friend and widow Jessamine Smith offers to sponsor her and Sonya, Yaz is all too eager to accept. Only, she doesn't expect to stumble across the reason for her family's ruin. And she certainly doesn't expect to fall in love.
