Summary
After Jack died Rhys inherited the Hyperion empire but given the climate at hyperion there were others who wanted to usurp his power. In a moment of grief over his dead husband Rhys had his memory wiped and he was transplanted back onto the food chain of Hyperion as a data miner. Something in rhys had always strived for greatness and he had felt a connection to Handsome Jack having no memory of his life before then or with Handsome Jack.
In the aftermath of his trip to Pandora and his dealings with the Handsome Jack AI the Hyperion higher-ups are scrambling to get Rhys back to Helios and get Jack out of his head before either of them remember who they really are. Only, it’s much too late for that.

Summary
Not every future can be predicted, Rhys knew, but he'd hoped things would be slightly easier. The Vault of the Traveler only held pain and cryptic mysteries for him. On the upside, Atlas is rising from its grave, thanks to his efforts.
Jack returns to reclaim his throne once more because heroes never die, apparently. They have a storied past, perhaps too much to work past. As if Rhys didn't have enough trouble managing strained friendships, a Vault-mutated hand that causes chronic pain, drunken weekends at the club, and the craziness of Jack suddenly fixating on him, his unpleasant past comes back to haunt him. A cult eyes a new power that was revealed by the Vault of the Traveler, waiting for their chance to claim it as their own.

So the basic fact of the whole mess is that the #NSA Dom/sub real ppl only thing? It only worked up to a point. And it's his own fault, he's not ashamed to admit that. Getting attached to a sleazy online Dom was maybe not the best idea he's ever had.
Rhys is a barista, and Jack is an asshole. Jack smacks into his life like a wrecking ball, and everything is entirely accidental from that point on. But then again, he can't say he's not having fun, because okay. He totally is. It also helped that Rhys really wanted to get laid, and in that respect Jack was a god in all but name.

Rhys is unexpectedly sent back in time after opening the Vault of The Traveler to pre-borderlands Helios when Angel is still a rambunctious seven year old and Jack has only been the CEO of Hyperion for a couple years. His job? Probably to fix the timeline. To prevent Jack's death, and hopefully Angel's too. At least, that's what he's going to try to do. What he doesn't know is that it was complete serendipity that he was sent to that specific time and location. Technically he should be dead. And hopefully he'll either get back, or fix everything, before the Eridians come to dispose of the anomaly in the space time continuum. ( Also Jack and Rhys have some sexy time and other plot complications. Bare with me. Is that the right bear? I don't care whatever. Just read my story. Or don't. I'm not a beggar.)
