Flux drums his fingers against the table, not meeting his eyes. "People tend to say stupid things when they think they're about to die," he says.
"You didn't mean it, then?"
Some undefinable expression flits across his face before it settles back into stony impassivity. "I thought you called me here to discuss, oh I don't know, the endless loop in time that we're both stuck in, for some godforsaken reason?"
Saps exhales long and slow through his nose. Fine. They don't have to talk about it. He can ignore the small, naive part of him that had hoped they might come to some sort of understanding. That had thought maybe this loop could be their second chance.
Or, Saparata is stuck in a time loop, reliving the Battle of Infernus over and over again. In order to break out of it, he needs help from the one other person trapped alongside him: Fluixon.

Summary
Nobody ever talks about what happens after the war. Dozens of homes laid abandoned, and all the grief and guilt that gnaws and consumes. The pain never stops where the history books do, and for Saps this rings true. Dealing with the confusion from the grief and guilt of Fluixon's death, it comes as a shock to find Fluix in his house: battered near death's door, barely conscious and bleeding on his bed.
Nobody talks about how you're supposed to deal with that.

Saps imagines visiting him at a bedside in a field hospital, meeting his eyes through bars, speaking to him from a witness stand, and feels sick.

Sophmore year, Saparata joined a band which was an immediate hit. It was until a recently formed one, Band Conspiracy had taken the spotlight. Specifically their lead singer, Cynikka. Her little brother was there too. Saparata would never guess who'd be willing to share the spotlight with him.
Most people have already went to their classes.. why wasn't he? He didn't seem lost... or confused.
Saparata stared at the man, he was hypnotizing.
The new student waved who he was talking to away. He turned around and noticed Saparata's glance, which made him realize what he was doing.
...The man had purple eye contacts. Ridiculous. Bright purple. Eye contacts.
He put his hands in his pockets as he walked towards Saparata— he looked intimidating.
The man was significantly taller than Saparata, which just made Saparata feel smaller.The hallway went quiet as the last few people went into their individual classrooms.

It has been two weeks since the end of the Infernus battle. As far as Saps knows, everything is at peace now. The war was won, both islands are quiet, and all those who caused chaos lie dead in the ground. A place from which they can never bother anyone again.
So tell him why. Why, of all things that could have happened, is his best friend... The same one whose memorial stands in front of Saps house, the same one Saps was sure was dead, now lying half-awake at his doorstep, begging for help?
Flux never begs.
What happened after Flux "died" in lava during the volcano raid?
And how, will Saps deal with it?
This fanfic was first written only with the intention to make Flux cry just to later have an excuse to give him comfort with lots of cuddles. But as i keep writing it, it turned into a somewhat sweet comedy with lots of silly fighting and bickering!
