Summary
Thanks to Lucius Malfoy being a huge twat, Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy find themselves accidentally bonded and forced to live in the same home. Harry keeps expecting Draco to go all Scorched Earth about the whole thing, but he's being annoyingly calm and reasonable about it all. It's driving Harry absolutely mad.
Or maybe it's more that he's been intrigued by Draco for a while now, and Draco won't give him the time of day. Or maybe that Draco is annoyingly attractive and apparently a good person now or something.
Either way, it's about bloody time they get this stupid bond sorted, don't you think?

Summary
Since Harry could remember, living with the Dursleys had meant learning to read their faces, their tells, the smallest signs that he was about to be in trouble. Like his uncle’s moustache would twitch when he got angry. His aunt’s lips would go thin when she found Harry particularly annoying. His cousin’s eyes would go wide when he was planning to attack him.
But to survive, instinct alone had never been enough. Since he had begun to observe, he had found that knowledge came in many forms and shades, not just from books. Knowing how to read a face was knowledge. Learning about himself was knowledge. Learning of the world outside was knowledge. Even knowing how to drop the right hint to soothe Dudley’s temper was knowledge, and knowledge had saved his arse time and time again.
So when Harry was thrust into a world full of magic. He decided he could do a lot with knowledge alone.

Getting into Ravenclaw had been planned, challenging traditions entirely deliberate, and loving Draco… inevitable. The rest followed almost on its own. Will Harry be able to reconcile with the past and lean on those who helped? Or will Harry be swallowed up by his own inheritance?
I only marked it as mature because references to past violence might be a bit much for a teen rating. The relationship part should stay nice and fluffy for the most part, not too spicy.

Since his past still haunts him, rather than becoming an auror, Harry decides to pursue teaching and becomes the assistant to the new D. A. professor. Everything is going as well as could be expected for him (besides the nightmares), at least until he realizes that the potions he brews or takes are acting oddly.
Draco Malfoy is having a terrible year, plagued by the ghosts of his past, the hostility of his present, and the uncertainty of his future. If only Potter could stop being in some kind of trouble for just one single year.

As Draco Malfoy's blood chilled from the desperate wailing of The-Boy-Who-Lived, he, also, began to question every principled lesson taught to him by his father.
When particular events of one scorching summer unfold, Harry and Draco find themselves entrapped in the same environment to spend the rest of summer beneath the roof of Spinner's End, under the watchful eye of Severus Snape while neither anticipating that this is the least portion of their worry. While the two fifteen-year-olds timidly spend the rest of their summer holidays together, waiting for the fifth year in Hogwarts to commence as soon as possible (hopefully with lesser drama than the previous year), something begins to brew in the dark. The fifth year is not going to be smooth sailing after all...
