The best way to describe Elara Gilbert would be an enigma. She is the blonde sunshine of mystic falls who feels much more than she can understand. Stricken by the grief of losing her father and step-mother, Elara finally leaves the confines of her small town. As they say once you get a taste of elixir you only want more and more of it.
For Elara this elixir was freedom from the expectations that come with being the perfect daughter. Once she meets two vampire brothers who she can't help but be drawn to, this thirst of freedom only amplifies. Not to mention the Salvatore brothers who just don't realise how many people are drawn to the girl in similar ways as them.
