Kel stands there, dumbstruck, and a smile stuck frozen on his face. Slowly, he nods yet Sunny can still see the gears turning in his head, “Heh, yeah… W-Wait, what’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means I love you, Kel.”
He’s left speechless, and that’s saying a lot from a chatterbox like Kel.
“Like…” Kel slowly brings his hands up, pressing his fingers against his thumbs in each hand to act as mouths before putting them together to mimic kissing, “like ‘kissy kissy’ love?!”
God, this man is an idiot. No wonder he fell in love with him. Sunny just smiles, “Yes, Kel. Like ‘kissy kissy.’”

Summary
Kel wants to kiss Sunny. Like, he REALLY wants to kiss him. But of course, he doesn't want to risk ruining their friendship, uncertain if his friend feels the same way. So when Aubrey and Basil tell him about an apparent loophole that would allow him to kiss Sunny while still preserving their friendship, Kel immediately latches onto it.
Sunny had been having a good day, all things considered. Kel suddenly running up to him with an eager glint in his eyes wasn't anything new to him, but everything that followed DEFINITELY was. And now Sunny is left reeling from the fallout, wondering if maybe his feelings aren't as unrequited as he had previously thought.
Meanwhile, the rest of the gang are watching this train-wreck play out like a Shakespearean comedy with buckets of popcorn.
(Or, Kel kisses Sunny on the lips after screaming "no homo" in his face, Sunny has several mental breakdowns, Aubrey is tired of her friends' shit, Hero is the lone voice of reason, and Basil really wants a peach tree.)

Summary
Sunny's known Kel since he moved to Faraway Town a long time ago; Sunny the timid loner who was always hiding behind Mari's back; Kel the loud, (sort of) annoying ball of energy always trying to get him to do something irresponsible. Now, the both of them have grown up, two teens navigating the wobbly maneuvers of high school and all the feelings that get mixed in between.
As Sunny begins to grow closer to his childhood best friend, he begins to see Kel in a very different light: tall, bright, and handsome. Wrestling with a mess of feelings for a boy he used to sneak out to Hobbeez with, it'll take seven memories and a whole lot of maybes for Sunny to see this hopeless romantic's love story through to completion.
The only thing is: does Kel even feel the same way?

“Kuina, I hate video games,” Chishiya whined. “And I hate gamers even more. They have no rational thoughts, always ready to smash their controllers when a game doesn’t go their way. They’re just a bunch of whiny kids. I don’t want to be their tactical coach, I’ll rather go work with the jigsaw team.”
“A Diamonds coach for jigsaw still makes sense, you know. Meanwhile a Spades coach is going to be assigned to that team and won’t know what to do. How do you physically train jigsaw players? Fingers agility?” The tall woman wiggled her fingers in front of Chishiya, making obscene hand signs.
“Stop it, that’s gross.”
She didn’t.
(Borderland Play Organisation is organising trials to recruit both coaches and players in its professional gaming teams. Chishiya and Kuina have been working for BPO for a few years and have been assigned to coach in the esport section. Chishiya hates it. Meanwhile, Arisu has always dreamed to play for BPO.)

Kel knew he ought to be more grateful, because if there was anything spending so much time in Senema Hospital’s Oncology Ward had taught him, it was that there were too many people out there who’d do anything for just one more birthday. But he was in so much pain—up his left side, his chest and upper back, his neck. The only time he was pain-free was when he was deep in the mire of his subconscious, where he could be twelve years old again, cancer such a foreign concept that he didn’t even really know what it was.
(Kel is sick, and no one knows how to deal with it.)

Except his life was completely shifted by a certain dirty mouthed tattoo artist with a dark past and an even darker heart. Haru, his daughter, should be his only priority, but Niragi keeps popping up in his head. He didn't want to fall in love with him, it's weird how fate goes the exact opposite of what you want.
Or, Arisu and Niragi sexual tension, the struggle of healing from past Trauma and abuse, and trying to fight against all odds to have a chance at love. Niragi isn't disgusting in here. At least not canonically.

Summary
That should have been the end of it. They had all made their choices and, as such, each player who had rejected residency awoke disoriented in hospital, dreams of death and pain slipping from them like water through fingers. Each was struck with a new sense of purpose and a realisation of just how lucky they were to be alive. Their brush with the meteor—their near-death experience—had given new meaning to their lives. They were going to survive, but, more than that, they were going to live.
Unbeknownst to them, the Borderlands wasn’t done with them yet.
There was still one card they had yet to play.
And the Joker was the wildest card of them all.

Summary
Navigating the borderlands seems like less of a challenge than navigating the complicated minefield that is his life as a beta in an all alpha family.
At least secondary dynamics were void and non existant in the borderlands, so Arisu could enjoy being valued for his intellect and kind heart. Here in the real world, he was just the useless beta son, forever stuck in the shadow of his younger brother.
Healing isn't linear, but at least he isn't alone! He has Usagi, and the other survivors who he's slowly starting to see as family.
Weirdly that includes Chishiya???
If only he could figure out what all those heated gazes, intimate touches and sweet words are suppose to mean.

Chishiya laughed softly. He was beginning to see why Arisu would be a hearts player. Those wide eyes, the fragile way he seemed to hold himself, Arisu was charming. It was no wonder Haru had become all maternal towards him in the time they had spent together and really it was not a coincidence that women seemed to gravitate towards him.
How intriguing.
"You shouldn't trust people so easily puppy." Chishiya said, "It may very well kill you."
Arisu shivered, the nickname doing something to him that he didn't know himself. Chishiya began to walk away, even amongst the crowd he stood out. Arisu stared after him even as his back disappeared amongst the throng of bodies.
