A modern school AU (senpai–kouhai dynamic) about a childhood friend pair: a boy who appears cold on the outside but is warm-hearted underneath and a tsundere girl with a prickly, short-tempered personality.
Their personalities are still fairly close to their canon selves. This idea came from seeing a fellow fan comment under a post about a collaboration involving the shrines associated with Giyuu and Shinobu's birthplaces, wondering what the two of them would be like if they had grown up as childhood friends. For some reason, my terrible taste immediately made me want to see a scenario where Shinobu is pressured by her family into calling Giyuu "big brother" (what awful tastes I have).
—If there's one thing that must be remembered from that youth that felt both slow and hurried, it's that each of them was like the sun to the other. He melted the hard shell around her heart, and she broke into the dark, forbidden depths of his inner world.

Kocho Shinobu accidentally got lost while with her family moments ago, and she accepted Giyuu's help, or as she calls him, "Giyuu-nii" to find her parents. But along the way, she finds herself captivated to this strange boy's smiles, a feeling her young mind could not yet comprehend, but it made her heart warm and made her smile wider herself.
But would these smiles last?
