Summary
Crowley jolted awake with a loud hiss, heart pounding. Were he wearing his human corporation, he would be gasping, but he had started his hibernation as a snake and still was one. His mind was sluggish, as was often the case in winter, and he struggled to grasp the fading threads of the nightmare and separate them from the reality. The bedroom looked fine, but something was off; the ghost of the nightmare lingered, refusing to let go.
Crowley flicked his tongue out to get his bearings and realised what was wrong: he couldn’t sense his angel nearby! Clumsily, he wriggled out from his cosy nest in the bed and slithered out from the room.
After the Second-Coming-That-Didn’t-Come, Crowley is exhausted and plagued with nightmares, and Aziraphale is starved for everything humanity can offer during Christmastime. Can they find a way to reconcile their very different needs for this winter? (Of course they can!)

Aziraphale had been dating Crowley for three months, and he had yet to see him without a hat.
Admittedly, he hadn’t seen the man without his sunglasses either, but that was easier to understand: Crowley mentioned having severe photophobia, which meant that most public spaces, even the restaurants that boasted “intimate lighting”, were too bright for him.
The hats, however, puzzled Aziraphale. In September, when Crowley’s search for ophiology books brought him to Aziraphale’s bookshop, he sported a black beanie embroidered with adorable little snakes. As the weather cooled down, he rotated through a selection of knit caps, toques, and bobble hats, mostly in black and red, often with snake embroidery or pins.

Later, whenever Crowley told this story, he always said it was the Christmas tree’s fault.
A faux fir tree, lavishly decorated and mounted on top of an oversized Roomba, it cruised the foyer of the theater before the house doors opened and then during the intermission, playing Christmas songs. Crowley found it slightly unsettling; trees, even fake ones, were supposed to stay stationary and quiet, not chase you down the hallway belting out “All I want for Christmas is you” like a drunk diva.
What happens if you add a singing tree robot to the theater foyer for The Nutcracker production? Minor mayhem and destruction, or heart-warming holiday magic? Why not both?

Aziraphale was disillusioned with Christmas. This would not be a problem per se if not for one thing: Aziraphale was the Santa.
Santa Aziraphale is doubting whether humans still feel the spirit of Christmas; the letters he's getting at the North Pole as of late read more like shopping lists than anything else. He decided to visit the human world to investigate, following a suggestion from his elf assistant Murielf. There, Aziraphale meets Crowley, a toy store employee who just wants to get through the holiday season. Together they set off on an extended date... er, I mean, a quest to discover what is wrong with the Book of Wishes and whether the Christmas spirit is still alive.
