Summary
Crowley jolted awake with a loud hiss, heart pounding. Were he wearing his human corporation, he would be gasping, but he had started his hibernation as a snake and still was one. His mind was sluggish, as was often the case in winter, and he struggled to grasp the fading threads of the nightmare and separate them from the reality. The bedroom looked fine, but something was off; the ghost of the nightmare lingered, refusing to let go.
Crowley flicked his tongue out to get his bearings and realised what was wrong: he couldn’t sense his angel nearby! Clumsily, he wriggled out from his cosy nest in the bed and slithered out from the room.
After the Second-Coming-That-Didn’t-Come, Crowley is exhausted and plagued with nightmares, and Aziraphale is starved for everything humanity can offer during Christmastime. Can they find a way to reconcile their very different needs for this winter? (Of course they can!)
