Summary
5 months after the gate is closed for good, things are back to normal.
Almost.
Will, still staying with the Wheelers, is struggling with the loss of his sister and his best friend’s downward spiral.
His insistent crush on said best friend isn't helping matters either.
“Last night," Will starts. He swallows. "Did you go back?"
There's a pause.
Mike shakes his head, keeps his voice low. "No. I told you I wouldn't."
“I put the bikes away last night, Mike. I made sure they were out of the way." Will looks up, trying to meet Mike's eyes. They stay fixed on the page in front of him. "So you went out? After I fell asleep."
“Not there," Mike mutters, frowning. "Just for a ride. I couldn't sleep."
"Why didn't you wake me up?"
“Why would I do that, Will?”
Or, Wherever Mike goes, Will follows.
