Chapter Text
Sickness
The building was far too warm. Mike tugged at his collar to try and cool down, the fan wasn't even helping, feeling like it was simply blowing hot air at him instead of cool air like it was supposed to. It hasn't helped that the past few days when he went to bed, it had been restless. Constantly tossing and turning under the covers or on top as his body couldn't decide if it wanted to be hot or cold. With how active the animatronics were tonight, Mike just couldn't stop checking the cameras between Pirate Cove and Freddy, who was one camera away from slipping inside.
His strength was leaving him as he wheeled to the left side of the office, pushing the door button to prevent Bonnie from getting in. The rabbit had given themself away with a giggle. Glad Bonnie was enjoying himself tonight while Mike felt like his body was on fire. He could push through this cold, he assumed it was a cold anyway. What time was it anyway? Glancing at the time in the corner of the monitor and felt his mood drop when it read as 2:01 am. He had only been here for two hours?
He pushed the door button when he heard the heavy footsteps from Bonnie leave. Now that he had and neither Chica nor Freddy were pouncing on the opportunity to slip in, Mike had a moment of silence.
He knew he couldn't keep them out for much longer. He could feel sleep clawing at him, desperate to drag him into the abyss of sleep, his body needing as much energy to fight the illness that had slipped inside. His blinks were slower, the eyelids remaining closed for longer before he jolted awake once more. The animatronics said that they weren't going to kill him. Well, Mike was going to put that theory to the test. Turning the tablet off, he wheeled closer to the desk and placed it on there. Checking the lights, he saw that the left side was clear but the right had Chica. Pressing the door button, the door dropped down, preventing the chicken from getting in.
She would be there for a while, hopefully Foxy wouldn't sprint down the corridor any time soon or Bonnie hopping between room to room until deciding to jump at the office. Mike tucked himself up to the desk and rested his arms in front of himself. Lowering his head and letting his eyes close. Just five minutes and he’ll be awake again.
Five Nights At Freddy’s
Chica had been watching Mike through the window, she had watched as Mike tucked himself up to the desk and rested his head on his arms. Eyes closed but he was paler than normal. Something was wrong and Chica was going to let the others know. He had left the east door closed which was only draining the building of its night power. Chica left the window and bumped into Freddy.
“Hey Freddy, I think Mike’s tired,” Chica informed the bear. “The door is closed so we can’t get in that way,” she glanced down the corridor once more to where the office was.
“Hmm…let’s go down the west hallway and really get a look,” Freddy gripped his microphone tighter before turning away from the office and making his way to the west hallway with Chica following him. The pair of them made their way to the dining area where they found Bonnie making a line of party hats on one of the tables. He had tried to make a tower like one would with cards, but the hats weren’t the right shape. “Bonnie, what are you doing?” Freddy couldn’t stop himself from asking the large rabbit, watching as Bonnie placed another hat in the line.
“I…may have gotten a little distracted,” Bonnie admitted as he looked between Freddy, Chica and the hats. “Also, I made a circle,” he presented the hats in a circular shape. Chica clapped while Freddy just chuckled. “Anyway, what are you doing back here Freddy? Mike stopped you?”
“I think Mike’s sleeping, so we should be able to get into the office this night,” Chica chirped happily before she continued down the path towards Mike’s office.
Bonnie looked towards Freddy who shrugged before he continued to follow Chica.
Chica had already made it to the office as Freddy turned down the west hallway, the chicken animatronic stepping into the office but not to scare Mike, just to simply see how he was. Freddy didn’t hear the typical screech they made when jump scaring the guard, but he did manage to catch Chica asking Mike if he was alright. By the time Freddy had arrived at the office, Chica was gently shaking the guard, only to find that he was already deep in sleep. She turned to look at him and shook her head.
“I’ll find something to take his temperature. I saw staff members in the past do that to children when they couldn’t find their parents,” Chica jumped up and pushed the door button on the right of the office to prevent further drainage of power.
“Good idea. I’ll remain here while you do that to stop Foxy from waking him up,” Freddy nodded towards Chica as she slipped out the office and towards the first aid box she knew was kept in the building. The skeleton day crew kept it there if something were to happen. Freddy remained by Mike and watched the sleeping guard. There was a thin layer of sweat on his forehead but until they knew the temperature of Mike, they couldn’t know for sure if he was ill or if he just wasn’t sleeping. While he waited for Chica to return, he wound up his music box and let it play. It was the only comfort that Freddy could provide.
The animatronics discovered that Mike had a high fever and had decided to do something about it.
Five Nights at Freddy’s
Anthony pulled up at Freddy Fazbear’s and spotted an unfamiliar car parked in the carpark. Raising an eyebrow, he left his car and headed towards the door and pushed it. The door gave way and allowed him to enter. Had they finally killed Mike? Anthony sprinted to the show stage to find that Bonnie and Chica was standing there but Freddy was missing. Anthony cursed as someone must have stolen Freddy. He walked towards Pirate Cove to find that Foxy was still there, before he heard a faint tune.
“What the…?” Anthony followed the tune towards the security office where he found Freddy, still playing his music box. Mike was still in his chair, head resting on his arms with Freddy playing his music box, a Fazbear blanket had been tucked carefully around Mike. Where they had found the blanket Anthony didn’t know but that didn’t matter. Freddy was in the office and Mike was still in one piece, he hadn’t been stuffed into a Fazbear suit like the other night guards. “Okay…this is creepy,” Anthony decided as he stepped into the office, slipping past Freddy before he reached for Mike. Freddy suddenly reacted, grabbing the employee with his eyes flashing. “Freddy, go back to the show stage, that’s an order.” Anthony glared at the animatronic bear. The music box stopped and Freddy slowly turned around to return to the show stage. Anthony watched as Freddy retreated before he looked back at Mike.
It had taken a good thirty minutes of constantly shaking Mike before the guard finally stirred. “What time is it…?” Mike asked as he leaned back in his chair and stretched. Reaching for the monitor he noticed the time and whistled. “So much for five minutes…” He glanced at the blanket that was still around his shoulders. Taking it off, he folded it up and handed it to Anthony. “Are you okay?” Mike asked the employee who nodded.
They didn’t kill him. Why didn’t they kill him? Where did the animatronics find a Fazbear blanket? Anthony had seen a lot of merchandise, but this blanket was the first he had seen. He placed it down on the desk and watched as Mike dragged himself out the office and down the west hallway. When Anthony looked at where he placed the blanket only to find that it had vanished.
