Chapter Text
He nervously fiddled with the hem of his shirt, sitting in the backseat of a Range Rover. He lost track of time of how long the drive from the airport already took, but a look out of the window told him that they were about to arrive at their final destination. As the car stopped at an underground parking lot, he took a deep breath before opening the door and stepping out. The driver of the car stayed where he was, but the guy sitting next to him left the car as well and nodded his head towards a door as a sign for Travis to follow him. Travis understood and followed him quietly through the door. After crossing a dark hallway, they were standing in front of an elevator waiting for it to arrive.
“Miss Swift is expecting you upstairs,” the not particular tall guy said to break the slightly awkward silence. They haven’t spoken a lot the whole drive, but Travis didn’t take it personal. He knew that Taylor’s security took their job very serious and weren’t there for a banter. And to be honest he was so sunken in thoughts that he hasn’t really been able to focus on anybody else. But he still respected the guy, so he meant it when he said “Thank you, man. I appreciate you!” The doors of the elevator opened, and Travis stepped in. The security entered a code and pressed a button for the right floor, before stepping out of the elevator, leaving Travis alone. Travis felt a queasy feeling in his stomach, which not only was a consequence of the rising elevator but also because he really was nervous. Since the day Taylor asked him if he wanted to come to see her in New York he felt a nervousness in him that he wasn’t used to. He was so thrilled to finally see her in person but was also scared to screw things up.
The sound of the reopening of the elevator doors snapped him out of his thoughts and while stepping out he tried to leave all his worries behind and just enjoy everything that would come. He walked towards the door opposite the elevator and saw that it was ajar. He didn’t know if he should just go in and also saw no bell that he could ring so he knocked on the door. He waited but nothing happened, so he decided to peak his head inside.
“Hello, somebody home?” No response. He opened the door and slipped inside the apartment to find himself in the hallway. “Taylor? You’re there?” he tried again.
“Travis? Is that you? Come in!” he heard a voice from somewhere on the other end of the hallway. He followed the sound of the voice and then finally saw her. Taylor was standing in the kitchen holding a bottle of wine. As soon as he saw her, a wide grin immediately spread across his face. He couldn’t believe how she even was more beautiful seeing her now the first time in person. She was wearing a brown plaid skirt and a black top with her hair straightened and subtle jewelry. It took him a moment to catch his breath before taking a few steps towards her.
“Hey,” Taylor said shyly, shooting him a smile. She didn’t really know how to greet him. The last few weeks they were talking and texting pretty much every day and quickly became very comfortable with each other but now seeing him for the first time standing right in front of her she didn’t know if and how they could build on it.
“Hey,” Travis responded, eyeing her, “Wow you look absolutely gorgeous!” He closed the remaining space between them and pulled her into a tight hug, breaking the ice. He felt how she relaxed in his arms, and he tried to savor the feeling of holding her for the first time. He took in the scent of her – a fruity and simultaneously citrus fresh scent. “I’m so glad you made it.” Taylor looked up at him, still in his arms. Technically she knew how tall he was but seeing him now, she was still surprised how tall he was.
“I can’t tell you how happy I am to finally be here.” They both were not ready to let go of each other yet, so for a few moments there were just standing there smiling at another. “So, I hope you’re hungry,” she said after a while. “You have no idea. One thing I can already guarantee you is that I’m always down for some good food,” Travis joked. “Perfect! I already started making dinner, shouldn’t take long to finish. But don’t get your hopes up too high, I’m no Michelin chef,” she laughed. Travis chuckled “Even though you’re probably only downplaying your cooking skills, there is actually nothing I’m craving more right now than a special creation made by you.” Taylor blushed at his words and quickly turned around to hide her flushed cheeks. But Travis caught on it and a grin flashed up his face.
“Wow so you definitely downplayed your cooking skills,” Travis said leaning back in his chair, “that tasted so fucking good. That dinner was better than any restaurant probably would have been.” Before Travis came here, they already talked about what to do for their fist date. He remembered Taylor being a bit hesitant, almost ashamed to tell him that they probably wouldn’t be able to go out on a normal date. She didn’t want the paparazzi and media to ruin their first date which would most likely happen when they would be seen together. She was afraid that the inconvenience to not be able to do normal things would scare Travis away, but she was surprised to see that he didn’t even have to think twice and suggested to simply have dinner at her apartment where he knew she would feel comfortable. “I’m glad you liked it,” she said happily while rising from her chair and stretching an arm out for him, “come with me. Let’s sit somewhere more comfortable.”
He took her hand and followed her lead. She took him to her living room and they both sat down on the couch. Travis stretched out his legs and opened his arms, proposing Taylor to lay next to him in his arms. She curled herself next to him and laid her head on his chest, taking in his wooden scent. The warmth he radiated eased her and helped her to relax and let herself go. She felt so safe in his arms; like nothing in the world could happen as long as she was in his arms. The hours went by, and they got increasingly familiar with each other. Travis was running his fingers up and down Taylor’s shoulders, sending sparks down her spine, and Taylor circled her fingers on Travis’s chest, gently stroking his chest hair. Their conversations flew effortlessly without awkward silence, and if there was a moment of silence it didn’t feel uncomfortable.
Travis let out a sigh. “What?” Taylor asked feeling his gaze on her. “Nothing,” Travis said quietly while being transfixed by her beauty and almost couldn’t take his eyes off of her. He cupped her face with his huge hands and carefully turned it towards him. She looked at him with her bright blue eyes feeling her heart pounding against her ribs. She felt how he tucked a strand of hair that had fallen in her face behind her ear, tracing her cheek with his thumb before placing a finger under her chin and tilting her head up to gain better access to her lips. He swallowed hard before lowering his head and leaning into her. She closed her eyes waiting for his lips to meet hers. They both had been craving for that kiss and now feeling his soft lips on hers she felt like their bodies were melting together like they were two missing parts of a puzzle. Travis ran his fingers through her hair which made her suck in a breath, and he took the opportunity to trace her bottom lip with his tongue. She deepened the kiss and Travis also felt desperate for more. He wanted more of this. More of her. He groaned as Taylor pressed her body into his and his growing erection was only poorly restrained by the slacks he wore. Taylor let out a quiet moan when she realized it and Travis sucked up the sound. He pushed harder and she felt him everywhere. It was a dizzying feeling for both and Travis really struggled to hold back. When they eventually let go of each other they had to take a second to catch their breath. They both giggled like they were teenagers, both with their lips swollen. Taylor ran her hand over his buzzcut before leaning into him and letting out a deep breath against his chest.
“Damn, Tay, you really drive me crazy,” Travis whimpered, still a bit out of breath. “That’s only the beginning…” she responded boldly with a smirk. But she was astonished as well about how he made her feel. And they were only making out so far so she wondered how she would feel once they took things even further. But she was ready to find out. She wrapped her hands around his neck, starting to kiss him again, this time moving her lips further down his throat making her way to his collarbone leaving multiple kisses on his skin. She slipped her hand under his shirt feeling his firm muscles tense under her touch. “Jesus, Tay…” Travis panted. His hand was resting on the small of her back and he couldn’t resist to slip his hand a bit further down, gripping her ass, which made her gasp. Both of them felt their growing desire, both greedy for more. Taylor brought her lips back on his and their kisses got wilder with their tongues clashing together. She moved herself onto his lap, pushing her covered center against his growing length. The friction of her body alone against his groin made him pant into her mouth. He had a hard time resisting to not fuck her right there on the couch.
He cursed internally when he thought about what he swore to himself before coming to New York. He wanted to make things right with Taylor, wanted to be a gentleman. So he promised himself to not screw her the first time he got to see her. He wasn’t looking for a short-lived fling with her. He wasn’t here to just fuck her, or to just please his needs. No, from the moment she gave him the opportunity to talk to her and get to know her he wanted to have something real with her. He wanted that they both could take their time and do things the right way. But now with her sitting on his lap, teasing him with her ass sliding against his firm erection he really had a hard time to resist. But he knew it was the right thing to do. So he backed off and pulled his lips away from hers.
“What’s wrong?” she asked a bit confused, “did I do something wrong?” Taylor was afraid she might have done something he didn’t like, or maybe read too much into the situation and he didn’t feel the same way she did. And that thought suddenly made her feel ashamed. She quickly slipped down of his lap, feeling abandoned and stupid for making a move on him. “Shit, no I’m so sorry,” Travis instantly realized that his hesitation hurt her feelings even though that hasn’t been his intention. “You haven’t done anything wrong. I- I mean I enjoyed this. All of this…” he said while glancing at the bulge in his pants. “It’s just that I don’t wanna rush things. I wanna make it right with you. You deserve it, and I want us to take all the time we need.” He looked at her, hoping to find a sign in her face that she understood what he said. But he still saw the hurt in her eyes.
“Damn I feel like I already screwed up,” he sighed, “it took everything from me to not give in, because fuck, Tay, you’re so hot. You can believe me that I really want this. Just under the right circumstances.” He placed a kiss on her forehead, trying to sooth her feelings. Taylor let out a deep breath but finally nodded in understanding. “Okay, well I get it. And as long as it’s not a permanent "no" and you only don’t want to sleep with me tonight, it’s all good,” she said, finally with a slim smile on her face again. Now that she understood where he was coming from, she actually appreciated his thoughts and his respectfulness. “Don’t you worry, that’s gonna be the only time I’m gentle with you,” he whispered with his voice low and thick.
