Work Text:

“What.” Hyun deadpanned, narrowing his eyes at the bathroom mirror.

He had woken up a few minutes ago, earlier than he was supposed to given the sleeping bodies around him. A quick glance at his phone told him it was three in the morning, which was four hours before he was supposed to be up.

He had noticed Jisu sleeping on the floor, and assumed that she had fallen off of the crowded bed. It had been a sleepover in the small apartment room, with her, Hyun, Hyuk, Eun, Gyuhwan, and Yuri.

Unbothered, he went to go for a piss.

That plan had changed, now, as his hand laid flat against the mirror to see whether this reflection was real or not.

His gaze wavered to the top of his head. Usually, it would just be a mop of messy, tangled hair that was still rough from Hyun doing gymnastics in his sleep (that’s how Eun described the way he couldn’t keep still while dozing, anyways). But now, two bumps had suddenly grown, covered in fur the same color as his hair.

Hyun hums sleepily, still squinting at his face.

Huh. He blindly turns towards the doorway before pausing, and taking one last look at the mirror.

That’s pretty weird, he concludes, before stumbling back to his bed and finding comfort under the blankets.

When Hyun opens his eyes again, it‘s only two hours later from when he had last woken up. He isn’t annoyed, though, because surprisingly, he feels like he had just been asleep for hours. Rising up into a sitting position, he looks around again to see everyone still asleep.

The urge to pee comes back again, and he hastily stands up to walk towards the bathroom. But then, as he enters, something in the mirror catches his eyes. Looking at it, he barely resists yelping.

What the hell.

Getting an odd sense of déjà vu, he watches with wide eyes as the two animal ears on the top of his head twitch randomly.

This is new, he thinks, blinking slowly.

He looks around to see if there are any cameras, as if this whole thing could be a prank, before reverting his gaze back to the mirror as he watches the top of his head intently.

He reaches both of his hands up to grasp at his ears, before pinching the top of them and pulling upwards as if they were fake props. The action backfires, as a whine escapes his mouth and he quickly darts his hands away.

That hurt.

So they are real, then, and he’s not dreaming.

Hyun continues to stare at himself, pondering. How did this even happen? Did they drink too much last night, and then someone convinced him to wear cat ears? But the ears on his head right now seemed scarily convincing. Maybe he got these on his own, by ordering some sort of hyper-realistic cat-ear headband on Amazon.

The last thought alone seemed laughable. Hyun is not a furry.

He blinks away his thoughts, before promptly exiting the bathroom and quietly closing the door halfway so the light doesn’t interrupt anyone’s dreams.

He’s really unphased about the situation, as it doesn’t seem too bad, but then he remembers how the kids on his floor had complained to him about how they’ve always wanted a cat, and then he remembers the face Eun made when she saw a dog limping around outside on the streets, and Oh no.

No, yeah, this is a very, very bad situation.

Hyun darts his eyes around before he spots a familiar black and red accessory sitting on a desk next to some papers. Carefully stepping over the snoring figures, he grabs it and places it over his head, before stepping back into the bathroom.

The baseball cap is practically a perfect fit, hiding his animal ears as well as not messing up his hair too bad. Even if Hyun didn’t usually wear a hat, he could just excuse it as a sudden change in fashion sense. That would be believable right?

He nods to himself in agreement. Yes, you’re so smart, and handsome, and cool, Hyun. The ladies love you.

He conceals a snicker at his ridiculous thoughts, turning towards the door to head back to sleep, before something else appears on his reflection. His mood quickly sours and he feels an eye twitch in disbelief and irritation.

A cat tail extends from his back in all its glory, slightly curling up towards the end. Its fur is the same color as his cat ears, though not as fluffy. The tail isn’t extremely long, but it’s not short to the point where it can be easily hidden.

Okay. Why was this happening to him?

A scowl quickly forms on his face as he grabs it, and the tail retaliates as if it was a being of its own and seizes up.

“For fuck sake,” he grumbles, twisting it in a way to at least decrease the space taken up. He doesn’t know how he’s gonna hide this.

As soon Hyun releases his hands from forcing his tail into a curled position, it shoots back out in a straight, rigid line. He groans loudly in annoyance, before snapping his mouth shut and covering it with his hands. Shit. He forgot it was still early.

He jumps and his tail jolts with him as someone knocks on the bathroom door.

“…Hyun?” Jisu’s voice comes through the wooden material. “Are you okay?”

Hyun curses to himself, before clearing his throat.

“I’m, uh…i’m fine! Sorry for waking you,” he apologizes, reaching for the door handle to lock it.

Embarrassment warms his entire body as the lock makes a very loud click noise. He can practically see the frown on Jisu’s face as she makes a noise of confusion.

“Are you taking a shit or something?” she asks, making Hyun sputter. “My bad, man.”

“No, no! I’m not–“ this is so awkward, why is he getting so defensive, “I just, I just had to take a piss…” He unlocks the door.

“…Are you decent?” Jisu asks.

Hyun furrows his eyebrows. “Yes?…” he responds hesitantly, growing confused at the tone of her voice, and oh shit, he’s not decent because there’s a literal tail sprouting from his ass, and his eyes widen as the door handle turns, and then–

“Hey, man, are you alright? You look freaked out…” Jisu stands in the doorway, with her mouth turned downwards into a frown. Her eyes look tired, and Hyun feels the slightest amount of guilt as he watches her gaze wander from his face to his hair.

“…Nice hat,” she huffs, filling up the silence from his lack of speech.

“Thanks,” he responds lamely, before freezing up as he remembers his other…bodily adjustment…

Though, his posture relaxes as he watches how Jisu’s face doesn’t look shocked, or surprised, or amused even. She looks more concerned.

Then, he becomes aware of the feeling of fur curling around his waist and Wow, okay, now it wants to stay hidden. That’s great.

“Seriously, you good?” Jisu asks, shaking him out of his stupor. “Why are you up, anyways? Isn’t it early?”

Hyun laughs quietly, before raising a hand to the back of his head as he smiles.

“I just had to piss,” he repeats.

Jisu slowly nods. “Right.”

Her gaze slowly returns back to his baseball cap. Hyun’s smile falters, and he blinks blankly.

“Why are you wearing a baseball cap?” she asks.

He feels one of his cat ears twitch beneath the hat, clearly uncomfortable from the sudden pressure.

“New fashion sense,” he answers seriously, the response coming to his mind automatically.

“…I see,” she trails off, nodding even slower than before. She squints her eyes at him.

Silence rises between the two as they stare at each other. Hyun feels his eye twitch. He doesn’t know what’s happening, but he’s not going to be the one to lose this sudden staring contest.

“Well…” Jisu begins again, furrowing her eyebrows. “I’m just gonna… go,” she finishes her sentence by abruptly closing the door, leaving Hyun to stare at it as he stays put in his position.

Damnit. How awkward can he get?

He slowly turns back to the mirror, narrowing his eyes at the reflection one more time.

Surely, this is just a prank someone pulled. Maybe this will go away tomorrow. He can survive one day, right?

That’s a lie. No, he can’t.

Hyun had cowardly stayed in the bathroom, unable to stand anymore conversations revolving his odd behavior. He sat on the toilet seat as everyone else had started to wake up, and only got out once he didn’t hear any more noise.

As he went downstairs to get breakfast himself, he felt like he was on a spy mission. Hyun was hyper aware of his surroundings, in case anyone wanted to sneak up on him and reveal his hidden animal accessories. It was kind of fun, to be honest.

He takes a deep breath as the elevator door opens to the first floor, and he hesitantly steps out. Hyun sees one of the security guards (he thinks his name is Wook) hurriedly step inside the elevator after him, and they exchange a quick wave before the doors close.

Walking further out, he can hear that bastard Seok Kim behind the counter to his left, yelling profanities again that were probably targeted at his wife. Hyun hates that guy. That old man, who had recently retired, was a much better manager.

Hyun turns towards the area where breakfast was served. He’s nervous, yeah, but so many people live in these apartments that maybe he won’t stand out.

“Hyun!”

Nevermind.

He averts his gaze to the direction of the voice, seeing all of his friends sitting down at a table and happily feasting. He ignores Jisu’s squinting eyes as he walks towards him.

“Hey man, were you constipated or something?” Hyuk asks, mouth filled with food. Hyun raises an eyebrow.

“You were in that bathroom for a while,” Yuri points a fork at him in an accusing manner.

He smiles as Hyuk scoots over to pat at a spot beside him, sitting down before shaking his head quickly.

“No, I didn’t take any shits,” he claims, taking a fork from Jisu and digging into the pancakes presented before him. “I was just… handling something strange.”

Eun raises a suspicious eyebrow. “Oh yeah? Like what?” she questions, flicking a blueberry at him. “I’m onto you.”

Hyun smiles menacingly at her, as he dodges the blueberry and tries to counterattack with a strawberry, only to be stopped by Gyuhwan, who steals both of their plates of fruit away.

“Are you okay, then?” Jisu asks again, while Eun whines about her stolen food in the background. “You seemed pretty distressed when I checked up on you.”

Hyun smiles easily, poking at his pancake with his fork. “It’s nothing, really.”

A comfortable silence washes over the table as they eat. Hyun watches with an amused expression as Hyuk and Gyuhwan banter over Maria from the Sky, and he almost forgets about his cat features.

“Nice hat,” Yuri comments.

Almost.

Hyun resists the urge to bang his head on the table.

It’s when he lets his guard down, when everything turns to shit. After eating breakfast, Hyun and his friends had been going to the gaming room on the first floor. Hyuk had forced them all to go, while Hyun didn’t mind. They all knew what game Hyuk was going to force them to play, but everybody was used to his obsession by now.

It was when Eun had suddenly banged her hands on the desk, enraged about her sudden death in the video game, that Hyun’s life really just went wrong.

He’s sitting in a chair behind her, watching with his friends as Eun’s barely defeating the monsters she comes across. They’re all watching intently, though, and as soon as Eun had jumped from her seat to rage quit, the sudden banging noise catches everyone off guard.

Hyun the most, though, as he loses his balance from the chair he was kneeling on and stumbles to the floor, bringing Yuri down with him. Laughter fills his ears, and he starts to laugh too, until he suddenly goes quiet at the way Yuri stares up at him.

“What the hell?” she says.

Hyun feels confused and almost worried, thinking he had crossed a line, before noticing her eyes looking over him…at the top of his head, oh shit–

He shoots up, feeling his face burn as he hastily covers his head, or more specifically, his ears. The baseball cap lays discarded beside him.

“Are you wearing cat ears!?” Gyuhwan shrieks beside him, laughter evident in his voice.

“He’s a furry!” Another unfamiliar voice yells, probably a bystander. Okay, come on–

Hyun slowly turns around, feeling more embarrassed than ever.

“It’s not… what you think,” he stammers, eyes wide, before swearing under his breath as he feels the fur around his waist uncurl to waver beside him.

Yuri makes a choking noise, the remaining laughter falls silent, and Hyun wishes God would just strike him dead.

Of course, that didn’t happen.

“So what you’re saying is,” Hyuk begins, his glasses glinting. “You woke up today with cat ears and a tail, and you don’t know how it happened?”

Hyun nods profusely.

The group had returned back to their apartment room in a hurried pace, as they bordered Hyun so he wouldn’t be seen by anybody else (not because he was a suspected furry, but because he clearly looked distressed). When they had gotten inside, relief filled the air and Hyun was comfortable enough to explain the situation as they all sat down on the only bed in the room and the floor.

Hyuk hums in understanding beside him, while Jisu frowns down at him while standing.

“Is that why you were so startled when I caught you in the bathroom?” she asks with a finger on her chin in thought. “Because you were trying to cover it up?”

“Right,” Hyun confirms quickly, glad that they stopped theorizing how long he took to shit.

“And it’s not fake? Like, a headband?” Yuri questions from the floor, tilting her head.

Hyun nods again, happy that his friends are so easily understanding.

She goes to reach up to his ears, but pulls them back as they twitch away from her. She looks at Hyun apologetically, but he gives her a reassuring face, knowing that he can’t control their movement.

“So you think they’ll go away tonight or tomorrow morning?” Gyuhwan inquires further, leaning in with interest.

Hyun leans back, feeling embarrassed again. “That’s what I’m hoping,” he confirms, smiling lightly even as his cheeks dust a faint pink.

The group falls silent as they process the information, as Hyun fiddles with his hands in his lap.

Suddenly, he jumps as Eun beside him grabs onto his tail. A small whine of annoyance escapes his throat.

“That means this tail is real!?” she shrieks in excitement, before being whacked in the head by Jisu.

“…Yes,” Hyun says finally, his tail instinctively curving around his waist again.

“This is quite the predicament you’re in,” Gyuhwan mutters with a sly grin. “And we have things to do today,”

Hyun narrows his eyes at him in an accusing manner. “Hold on,” he starts.

“It’s my grandpa’s birthday, isn’t it?” Yuri cuts in, gesturing towards a few gifts in the corner of the room. She’s smiling in a way that makes Hyun think she’s up to something.

“Oh, yeah, and Byeong-il and Ji-Eun just became official, right?” Hyuk adds on, shaking his head towards the bouquet of flowers that stand on the desk where Hyun got his hat. He’s also got a smirk on his face that doesn’t mean anything good.

“Okay, wait,” Hyun tries to silence them, but gets interrupted once more by Jisu.

“And, you know how the kids down the hall absolutely love cats, and so does Myeong-ja, so it would just be terrible if–”

“Alright!” he yells, exasperated. “I get it!”

The group erupts into laughter, while Hyun smiles miserably.

“You don’t have to go out if you don’t want to,” Gyuhwan assures him, leaning back on the wall to the bathroom. “We’re just messing around.”

Hyun shakes his head. “No, it’s fine, I’ll go out. Besides, if it’s only lasting for a day, might as well make the most of it, right?”

The menacing grins that go around the room are frightening.

“It was so nice for you to stop by,” Myeong-ja tells them, the skin around her mouth wrinkles from her warm smile. The group hadn’t walked far, since their room was next to the elevator and Myeong-ja’s was closer to the window at the end of the hall. Now, they sat around gathered in her living room while the two siblings, Yeong and Sook, raced around in the storage room next to it.

“The kids have been waiting for you all to visit,” the brunette continues, “especially you, Yuri.”

The girl in question jumps at the mention of her name, before blushing slightly.

“R-really?” she stutters, smiling nervously at the sudden spotlight.

Myeong-Ja nods, oblivious. “Yes, ma’am! You know how they are with Seop Ahn,” She makes a face of realization. “Oh, right, it’s his birthday, isn’t it?”

Yuri’s face lights up with the rest of the group. “It is!” she confirms, lifting up a small bag. “We all brought gifts for him, and we were planning to drop it by later.”

Myeong-ja nods in understanding, before getting up. “I also brought a gift,” she explains. “Follow me!”

The group follows her into the storage room, and are greeted by…a really strange sight.

Hyun, who had been dragged into the chaos in the storage room, was sitting on the couch cross legged while Sook patted his head continually beside him like an actual cat. Yeong had been content with playing with the tail.

“Oh,” Myeong-ja says simply, and Jisu freezes up in panic because they had forgot to tell her about Hyun’s…situation. Hyun freezes with her, but the rest of his friends seemed amused by the scene before them.

“How cute! Glad to see you, Hyun,” the lady smiles, before continuing her walk. Jisu visibly slouches in relief, before giving a teasing grin to Hyun, who blushes profusely.

“Didn’t know Cat-Hyun was so soft on the kids,” Hyuk remarks, smiling like a madman. Hyun hisses violently in response, ears lowering slightly.

Myeong-ja steps inside her room, and as the group of friends stand outside crowding the doorway, Sook whines in sorrow.

“No way you’re only like this for a day!” she cries, covering both of Hyun’s cat ears. They twitch in response, out of his control.

“You need to live with us and become our pet,” Yeong demands, curling Hyun’s tail to his liking. “We’ve already prepared for you.”

Hyun makes a deadpan face, while Sook continues to talk.

“Yeah!” she exclaims, shooting up from the couch to sprint to the kitchen entrance. “We have cat food right here!”

Hyun smiles, in a desperate attempt to please the sensitive kids. “Wow, that’s great.”

“And we bought a litter box, too,” Yeong continues as Sook runs back into his lap. Hyun chokes on his spit.

“Yeah? That’s, that’s nice. Very considerate,” he stammers, pushing himself off the couch. Maybe it was a bit too considerate. His tail uncurls from Yeong’s hand as he dodges another pillow thrown from Sook.

To his relief, his friends and Myeong-ja exit the room with an extra bag.

“It’s my gift for Seop Ahn,” the lady explains with a kind smile, noticing Hyun’s questioning gaze on the new bag.

“Ah,” he responds, following them out of the living room.

The group crowds around the exit of the apartment room as they’re ready to leave.

“It was nice visiting,” Gyuhwan says politely, lightly grasping Myeong-ja’s hands in his own.

The lady smiles. “Of course! Make sure to give Seop Ahn my gift, and tell him that the kids also said ‘hello’,” she gestures towards the two siblings trying to attack Eunju, who had blocked them from pulling Hyun’s tail again.

Jisu grins. “We will.”

The group leaves the room one by one, and just when Hyun thinks it’s peaceful again, Sook calls his name.

“You’re always free to use our litter box!” she yells, and Hyun almost passes out.

His friends erupt in snickers and giggles again as his face begins to burn once more.

“Okay, Sook-a, I promise,” he mutters, before Yeong promptly slams the door in his face.

“L-litter box!?” Eun yells, clutching her stomach in pain from laughing

“You’re always free to use their litter box, Hyun,” Hyuk repeats again in spite as they begin their walk towards the elevator.

“Shut up!” Hyun yells, only to bury his head in shame when his tail goes rigid behind him, groaning as his friends roar with laughter.

He had jinxed it. He cannot survive one full day. Not with his friends, at least.

They had a brief visit with Byeong-il and Ji-Eun, all congratulating the newly formed couple. Ji-Eun had thanked them profusely for the flowers, before placing the bouquet in an empty vase next to the door.

Regarding Hyun’s cat situation, the couple found it extremely amusing like the rest of his friends did.

“It makes sense,” Byeong-il had commented with a sly smile. “You act like a cat even without the ears and tail.”

The group had gone silent for a moment, before chaos erupted again as they all shared their thoughts on the topic. Of course, Hyun hastily refused to see the evidence eye to eye, but when Jisu had brought up some text messages where he had used cat emojis, Hyun quickly fell silent while the others laughed at his antics.

With one of the gifts delivered, the only thing they had to do was visit Yuri’s grandfather.

Gyuhwan had never liked the hospital. The smell was always fresh, but in a sickening way where his nose winced up from now and then. It was also always eerily empty, with the only sound being the light melody of music played from the speakers.

The other bad thing about it was the memories. The first time he had come here was when he had to drive his dad to the hospital. It was a terrible experience, really, because Gyuhwan thought his father was going to die. He thought he would be left alone, with no one else to care for but himself.

His father made it, luckily. He just had to sit in the hospital all day. Gyuhwan made sure to visit at least once a week, but sometimes the doctors didn’t even let him in the room, just delivering the things he brought for his father by themselves.

It wasn’t that bad. The assurance that his father was still alive everyday was enough to keep him moving.

“I’ll be right back,” Gyuhwan had said to his friends as they exited the elevator on the third floor of the hospital.

They had all waved at him with kind smiles, but he didn’t miss the exchange of nervous glances when they thought he wasn’t looking.

Taking a deep breath, he presses the button for the fifth floor.

“Oh, god, who let you goblins in here!?” Seop Ahn yells in a scratchy voice, gripping his pillow tightly to his chest while widening his eyes in a frantic manner. “Security!! Security!!!!!

The group laughs playfully as they run into the hospital room, oblivious to the nurses staring, concerned.

“Grandpa! Be nice!” Yuri yells, smiling widely. She holds the bags of gifts behind her back, out of sight.

Seop Ahn laughs loudly, lowering his voice. “I’m just playin’ with ya’!” he exclaimed, clapping his hands on the railing of his hospital bed. “What’s up!”

Hyuk smiles with teeth. “Nothing, really, old man, but Hyun’s got himself in an odd situation.”

He steps to the side, revealing Hyun in all of his kitten glory, hands snuggled comfortably in the pocket of his hoodie.

Seop Ahn‘s eyes widen a fraction. “Woah!” he yells, pushing his back towards the hospital bed frame. “He’s a dog!”

Eun snickers. “A cat, sir.”

“Oh, right.”

The group falls into a comfortable silence.

“So,” Seop Ahn starts, “How’s the complex?” his mouth forms a frown. “Is that asshole still the manager?”

Yuri frowns with him. “Yeah. I feel bad for his wife, the poor lady.”

Seop Ahn hums in understanding. Then, he smiles in triumph.

“Karma always comes. And when it does, it hits hard.” He winks while punching his fist into the air.

Jisu laughs quietly. “I hope so.”

The room falls quiet once again, before Hyun smiles warmly, his tail curling up. “We heard it’s your special day,” he says in an amusing tone.

Seop Ahn scoffs, folding his arms dramatically. “Special? That’s an exaggeration,” he begins, before being interrupted by Yuri blowing a raspberry.

“Oh, shut up, you geezer!” she yells, before throwing the bag at him (which he luckily catches) “Happy birthday!”

Seop Ahn’s expression falters for a second, before grinning even wider than before. “Aw, man, really?”

Jisu grins with him. “A gift from each one of us, including Gyuhwan and Myeong-ja.”

Hyun watches how each of his friends explain their birthday gifts, going from simple things like handmade cards to big things like stuffed animals. He can proudly say that he, personally, spent money on a giraffe stuffed animal with big, black beady eyes that are probably comforting. Probably.

His heart bursts and his cat ears fold as Seop Ahn gives him a genuine smile, thanking him for the gift.

“Have a nice birthday, sir!” Hyuk grins as they say their goodbyes. “Don’t lose my panda bear!”

“You can’t trust my memory!” Seop Ahn retorts playfully, still looking down at his gifts.

“Bye, Grandpa,” Yuri concludes their visit, closing the door to the hospital room. The mood is rather cheerful, and Hyun’s tail is still curled up as his chest warms.

“You have the coolest grandpa ever,” Eun mutters. The group exchanges teasing glances at the phrase they’ve heard a million times before. “Seriously!” she adds on, smiling while looping her finger around Hyun’s tail. He doesn’t mind.

“Yeah,” Yuri agrees quietly, stepping into the elevator while the others follow her lead.

A comfortable silence lingers inside the machine as Jisu presses the button to the fourth floor. The elevator music is oddly calming, and Hyun relaxes with his tail as it droops over Eun’s fingers.

The mood continues until there’s a ding! from the elevator, signaling that they reached the fourth floor. The doors slowly open from the middle as the group begins to step out…

And then suddenly, they’re startled by a boy who turns the corner, ready to step in the elevator. The boy mentioned also jumps, a high-pitched yelped escape his mouth as his posture goes rigid.

“Oh,” Eun breathes. “It’s just you, Gyuhwan.”

Gyuhwan falters, before he grins at the group and steps in, shoving himself between Hyuk and Yuri. He looks towards Hyun.

“Looks like you’re still a furry,” he observes, looking him up and down with a serious expression.

Hyun scowls, tail going stiff again (much to Eun’s displeasure), before sticking tongue out at Gyuhwan playfully.

“I’m not a furry,” he retorts, folding his arms and furrowing his eyebrows.

Gyuhwan smiles teasingly. “Right.”

The others exchange amused glances, being used to their banter. Jisu clicks the button for the first floor.

“You scream like a little girl,” Hyuk states, nudging Gyuhwan by the shoulder, who whips his head to stare at him in betrayal. He sputters an excuse as his friends fail to stifle their laughter.

“Whatever,” he scoffs, before giggling with the rest of them.

Silence falls over the elevator once more, though it’s not awkward.

“So, how’d the visit with your dad go?” Yuri questions, bringing noise to the elevator shaft once again by asking the question everyone had been thinking.

Gyuhwan hesitates. “It was…nice,” he chooses to say, leaning on the wall and staring upwards as the elevator numbers tick down. “He was happy to see me.”

The group makes noises of understanding, before falling quiet once again.

“Is he getting better?” Hyuk asks him. This time, Gyuhwan smiles.

“Yeah. The doctors say that he’s on a steady path of recovery, and maybe in the next few months that he’ll be able to be excused.”

The good news lifts everyone’s spirits, and they all beam at Gyuhwan.

“That’s great!” Hyun exclaims, patting his back. “I wouldn’t assume any worse.”

Gyuhwan smiles at him, before it turns mischievous as usual. Hyun falters, squinting his eyes suspiciously.

“How was the old man?”

New energy bursts from everyone, a conversation starting that’s destined to last forever, even as they begin to walk out of the hospital. Hyun leans from their ruckus, comfortable with just spectating. He feels Eun start to play with his tail again, and it instinctively goes to curl around her hands as she giggles. His cat ears stiffen at the sound.

Hyun hums to himself as the cheery voices of his friends continue around him.

Maybe this whole cat transformation thing wasn’t such a bad thing, after all.

Hyun wakes up to the blinding sunlight escaping through his windows. He squints his eyes, before roughly rubbing them and climbing out of his bed. Hyun looks around to find that his room is empty, and then remembers that all of his friends had went their separate ways after the duties they went to do.

Speaking of…

Hyun jolts out of bed and races towards his bathroom. His cat features should be gone, right? He grins widely. Finally.

He enters the bathroom and takes a look towards the mirror, and his smile drops instantly.

Two familiar bumps twitch on his head, and a tail goes to curl around his waist.

Hyun groans loudly in exasperation.

God damnit.

Notes:

ummmmmm that’s it it’s kinda weird i forgot what half of the manhwa was even about but it’s fine
