Work Header

Always, and only two

Summary:

In the original Revenge of the Sith, two Jedi confronted the two Sith who were now in control of the Republic in a attempt to free the galaxy from their tyranny. In another universe, Sith confront Sith in order to take the other's power.

Notes:

Please ignore the fact that I didn't give Yoda or Obi-Wan Sith names.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Yoda entered the office of Emperor Palpatine with no trouble at all. The building seemed surprisingly empty for the most part. The only real problem the former grandmaster of the Jedi order would have here was the Sith lord he had come to kill.

Two red guards pointed their spears at him, preparing to attack, only to be knocked out when Yoda flicked his wrist and sent them into the wall with the force. Yoda then settled his hands on his walking stick.

Sidious merely turned his chair to face the old fool.

“I hear a new apprentice you have, Emperor,” the Jedi said, “or should I call you Darth Sidious ?”

“Master Yoda,” Sidious responded, oddly calm, “you survived .”

“Surprise!”

In less than a second, the Jedi let his walking stick fall over as he quickly raised both hands and launched a wave of force lightning at Palpatine. Sidious’ eyes widened a fraction before they bulged open as he was shocked by the electricity. The attack sent the emperor out of his chair, and into the wall with a crack . He fell to the ground, and let out a groan of pain.

Mas Amedda paled, and quickly slapped his hand against the wall. A small section of the floor opened up, revealing a secret passageway. The assistant of the emperor quickly jumped down into it, making his escape. The secret passageway closed off.

Yoda merely scoffed at the cowardice, before refocusing his attention on Sidious. Sidious had recovered from the Jedi- Sith’s attack, and was now glaring hatefully at Yoda.

“At an end, your rule is,” Yoda jabbed a finger at his deformed enemy, before his eye color turned into a glowing yellow, “and just beginning, mine is…”

Sidious snarled, before he reached out with the force. The desk he had sat at went flying through the air, heading straight for Yoda.

The nimble creature leapt into the air, landing on the desk for less than a second. He ignited a red lightsaber, before he leaped off the desk and landed gracefully on the floor. The desk slammed into the area Yoda had stood in previously, and now blocked off the entryway.

Sidious stood up, and caught a cylindrical object that fell from his sleeve.

“No chance you have,” Yoda suddenly stated, “you shriveled prune.”

“You will not stop me. Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us!” Sidious punctuated this statement by igniting his own lightsaber.

To the emperor’s surprise, Yoda smirked at him. The next thing Yoda said sent shivers down Sidious’ spine.

“Dealing with him, my apprentice is.”

“If you’re not with me, then you’re my enemy ” Anakin-or perhaps Vader-bit out his ultimatum.

Obi Wan Kenobi looked at his former padawan in disbelief, before his expression hardened. “Only a Sith lord deals in absolutes,” he pulled his lightsaber off of his belt and settled into the stance for the lightsaber form known as Soresu, “I will do what I must.”

Anakin’s brows furrowed a little before he turned to shoot Obi Wan a dirty look, “Gee Obi Wan, that sounds a lot like an absolute.”

“As a matter of fact,” Obi Wan gave that smirk he was known for as he ignited his lightsaber, revealing a red blade, and stunning Anakin, “it is .

And so, two groups of Sith come into conflict with each other. What happens next?

Perhaps Yoda kills Palpatine thanks to the power granted to him by the dark side, or perhaps Palpatine manages to barely overcome Yoda, before traveling to the Mustafar system to aid his apprentice. Perhaps Obi-Wan defeats Anakin even easier than he would have as a Jedi and leaves him to burn on Mustafar anyway. Or perhaps, Obi-Wan takes Skywalker and hides him, so that he may train his brother in secret to overthrow either Yoda or Palpatine.

Does it really matter what happens next? Either way, the dark side wins.

Either way, there are two victors.

Notes:

Who will win? The Sith or the Sith?

It could go either way, but my money is on the Sith.
