Summary
Neil is practically plastered to his back as they head for the back of the bus. He turns back slightly to glare when Neil trips him, but the idiot doesn't even look apologetic.
Internally, Andrew rolls his eyes; he has a feeling he knows the reason for Neil's sudden clingy tendencies.
Andrew's arms are pleasantly sore from the full half he played, only letting in a single goal like Neil asked on their way here. He doesn't know yet what he'll ask for in return. Possibly a weekend getaway out of state or as many hours as Andrew wants dressing him up in the mall.
From the way Neil is trying to merge their bodies together, Andrew figures what he'll owe is far from his mind.

Summary
The first time Nicky screams bloody murder he rushes to his side, only to find that he’d walked into a cobweb and freaked out. The others check in too, but by the fourth one even Andrew is debating ignoring it. It changes when Nicky doesn’t scream. Andrew catches a glimpse of him out of the corner of his eye, significantly paler and completely frozen as he stares down a long hallway.
“Andrew,” he whispers, “I saw someone.” Andrew doesn’t bother hiding his eye roll.
“No,” Nicky says, still only moving enough to breathe, “I saw someone.”
“Even if you did, it’s probably just a junkie,” Andrew replies.
He walks down the hallway without fear, Nicky huddling as close as possible without touching. Once they’ve (read: Andrew) checked every room and found nothing, Nicky breathes a sigh of relief, “Thank god, I really don’t actually want to find a ghost.”
Andrew says nothing, letting Nicky walk in front as they move towards a new section.
He doesn't feel it grab his ankle.

Summary
Neil was always going to run, the choice to reveal his name and hidden designation never should've swayed Andrew, but they had.
Neil had swayed him, and now Andrew can only reckon with the fact that he was stupid enough to want again.
It's those thoughts that are circling his head when the car pulls up. It's not smooth, he watches as the driver goes over the curb, though Andrew doesn't care enough to tell them off for their horrible park job.
Not until Neil fucking Josten practically collapses out of the driver's seat, beat to all hell and with red hair to boot.
Andrew is at his side before his conscious mind realizes, his body already having made the choice for him. He smells blood, and fear, but they're overpowered by the sweet scent of strawberry sorbet pouring out from Neil's neck.
His mouth starts to water as Neil practically folds into his arms, pupils blowing wide as he catches the heat scent of slick in the air. He has a second to curse before Neil is looking up at him, glazed eyes blinking heavily before getting stuck on Andrew's face.
"Andrew," He says his name like no one else ever has, possibly ever will.

Summary
It doesn't take long for Neil to join him on the roof, his face lighting up when he sees him. Neil settles next to him, close enough that Andrew can feel his body heat without touching. Neil's wearing the hoodie he pilfered from Andrew's closet a few months ago; he feels his eyes catch on it a little too long. He forces his eyes away, but he leans closer until their shoulders brush. Neil takes it for the invitation it is, leaning most of his weight into Andrew's side.
"So, what is this?" He pulls the dog clicker from his pocket, still in its plastic packaging.
Andrew's hand ghosts over Neil's covered hip, fiddling with the waistband of his egregious shorts. "Don't ask questions with obvious answers," he retorts.
He slips his hand beneath fabric to reach bare skin, grounding himself with the familiar raised skin. "I want to-" The words get stuck in his throat.
Aggravated with himself, Andrew squeezes Neil's hip hard enough to hurt, but Neil only blinks slowly at him, not a hint of expectation on his face. "I would like to be louder. With you," Andrew forces out spitefully.
"Oh," Neil says surprised, "Like when we-?"
"When we fuck," Andrew says shortly.

Summary
During the first 6 months of knowing Neil Josten, he’d refused all conversation surrounding shift forms. It was the Foxes’ largest and most anticipated betting pool yet, and one of many more to come surrounding the newest Fox.
It’s not uncommon for people to be private about their shift form, Andrew himself rarely showed it outside of fights. There were also others like Matt or Aaron who preferred it when possible. Neil had taken his privacy to the next level. He was obsessive in his refusal to share even the smallest amount of information with the foxes about his shift-form.
Andrew knew Nicky had bet that it was something really embarrassing, while Renee thought his reluctance to share could’ve been evidence for an inconvenient form, like a dolphin.
He knew it was something else, not embarrassing or aquatic, but that Neil’s form was real. Real where Neil Josten wasn’t more than a broken person’s dream. Andrew hadn’t bothered to bet, had never even asked despite their game.
It had taken Andrew being broken apart and hastily shoved back together, and a palm dragged over hidden scars for him to broach the topic.
