Maybe he would've once, but I've been watching him, watching the spiral. He'd choose his country over you in a heartbeat. I mean-" Dream laughed, a blade's edge, "I mean, he sent you out here with me!"
"He sent me out here because he knows I'll win." A snarl, laced with the sort of hysteria Tommy hated most.
Dream shifted again. His shoulders lost tension, his arms relaxed. A hand rose to cup Tommy's face, sickeningly tender.
"Oh Tommy."
Nauseatingly soft.
"You really think that's the deal Wilbur and I made?"
