Mydei huffs and reaches up to smooth his hair out, fingers scraping along the base of black horns to watch Phainon's eyes close of their own accord. A soft exhale, head tilting into Mydei's palm.
So easy.
He tugs on a strand of white hair, and Phainon doesn't even react. He trails his hand lower, hooks one finger into the choker resting snug against Phainon's neck. Yanks on it to have Phainon lean closer, eyes snapping open.
Without having to look, Mydei's fingers easily find and press against the burning skin where the sun mark rests. Its outline used to be a vibrant gold, now faded into a silvery white.
"You are losing your gold, Khaslana."

Summary
Mydei goes to compete at Okhema's Annual Livestock, Hyrbid and Agricultural Show. However, he finds himself distracted by his main competition for best in show, a bull claiming to hail from a remote mountain village, one who is far too good looking, and far too horny, that Mydei can barely concentrate on the competition at all!
After competing against each other at the show, Mydei is horrified (and secretly thrilled) to find the bull - nicknamed 'The Deliverer' - appear on his home terf. Phainon is here to do just one thing, to breed Mydei. And he'll be staying for however long it takes.
Mydei decides to challenge the bull. If he can somehow impress him, then Mydei will let the bull breed him.
He doesn't intend to make it easy.

Summary
Skopas died in his cot a little before dawn, on the morning of the eleventh day after the Council of Elders had voted by a margin of three votes to permit Kremnoans to draw water from the eastern cisterns of Okhema. His death was a quiet one in linen sheets that smelled faintly of herbs, with the morning bells of a foreign land ringing over the makeshift camp.
It was a most inglorious death. His brother, who had sat with him through the long night, did not weep. He set his palm flat upon the corpse’s forehead, traced the sigil of Nikador above his eyes, and rose to leave the tent.
Mydei knelt by the cot, setting the back of his hand to Skopas's cheek. The flesh was already cold. He'd thought about it a dozen times over the past months, known from the first that they would have a death in the camp before long, and he had known that when it came, he would have to do this. He had simply hoped that he would have a little more time to prepare.
Funerary marches are no easy thing, not when your people are much diminished in a foreign land and every action is suspect---especially when a white-haired nuisance with bright eyes and a charming smile insists on tagging along.

The sight was downright baffling: Mydei’s usually ill-tempered cat rubbing against the leg of his one-night-stand, purring up a storm. Mydei could do nothing but grasp for the only reasonable conclusion: “You have a cat too.”

“Any experience with animals at all?” Mydei asked, a bit incredulous.
Phainon blinked. “I fed my neighbour’s goldfish for a week when I was eight?”
Mydei looked to their feet, where Fig Stew was now winding between Phainon’s ankles in crystal-clear affection. Nikador, he thought, in slight disbelief. Tell me I didn’t somehow sleep with the only human in Amphoreus who my cat happens to like.
Mydei has a routine. Said routine does not involve his cat falling in love with his gym-rival-with-benefits. (Especially not when it’s starting to make Mydei fall for him a little, too.)

“Right…” Cipher rolled her eyes. “The real question is who proposes to someone they’ve just met?” She paused, blinked, then pointed out, “Actually, sounds like you’re meant for each other if we put it that way.”
Aglaea raised a brow, while Tribbie covered her mouth to hide a smile.
TLDR: Phainon meets Mydeimos for the first time and proposes. Mydeimos unexpectedly accepts.

Ch 4/7; sorry the end of ch 4 just took me out bc the “you think so too, right?” is so cyrene coded that im like FLAME REAVER CYRENE??? THAT LITTLE GIRL IS THE 9FT FLAME REAVER OF THE DEEPEST DARK? Anyway at first i was getting Inklings that Mydei could be a regressor or remember his past lives, and then it seemed more like Phainon was the one propelling the loops. Ch 8/8 (complete); dead dove mind the tags; the author’s note about being raised catholic made me laugh and i feel like im in the same boat. It’s hard to succinctly put into words how this fic made me feel, but i can say it was impossible for me to put down and i read it all over two days. I thought about how typically in porn and hentai, the mind break is so quick, moving on swiftly to the final state of that male-gaze-y, cock-obsessed whore - i really enjoyed that this fic took its time to detail step by horrific step the journey Mydei endured through the process of his mind break. YMMV on the open ending but i feel its the perfect way to close this fic.
