"Yes," Lestat huffed. “I would like to.”
Lestat has taken up birdwatching, Louis discovers how much it means to him; they both grieve the unspoken.

“Let’s clean you up,” he said quietly, more to himself than to Lestat, though a small part of him hoped Lestat could somehow hear him, wherever he was. That somehow, even unconscious, he could still offer him a little comfort.
or: Louis wakes up before Lestat after the beheading and makes sure he's cleaned, changed, and tucked into his coffin before anyone else can touch him.

Summary
After all, poor Lestat, vomiting his guts up and nodding off sitting down. Poor Lestat, who can’t seem to keep the blood in his system with how often he needs to use the restroom. Poor Lestat, who can’t stomach his usual victims and has to go looking for something to satisfy the urge. Poor Lestat, who has no idea what’s going on.
Poor Lestat. Poor sad, broken Lestat. How could they possibly stay angry at him, when he’s suffering and he has no idea why? That would just be cruel.
And this would make them angry, because they believe him to be a being with enough power to make himself suffer to earn their love. They think him pathetic enough.
He doesn’t even realise he’s crying until the blood drops land on the toe of his shoe.
He can keep it to himself for now. It’s just about him. It’s his business.
If things change or worsen, he’ll tell them.
He swears.

Lestat's body is changing for the first time since the day he died, and he has no idea why. All he knows is that until he can learn more, he cannot tell Louis and Claudia, not wanting to rock the boat after just being welcomed home after six years seperated. This goes wrong.
