“You’re the one who’s broken into my prison, little bug,” the robed stranger says, his head tilting a little to the side as he talks. “Shouldn’t you know who’s cell you're storming before you get there?”
Tentatively, Jisung says, “...Cell?”
The fairy’s smile blooms.
Alternatively, Jisung is an anomaly. A fairy that can't do magic.

It is distinctly without ceremony that Jisung lifts the dagger to his own chest. His fingers curl easily around the bejewelled hilt. He finds the place that aches more than anything, the centre of him, his heart, and —

Jisung’s world rocks again. Tilts cleanly off its axis, although perhaps that is simply the way that he spins around. His knife clatters to the stone floor.

As if under a spell, she leaned in again and pressed a light kiss to the corner of his lips.
It had been gentle and brief – but this time, his breathing did change: not abruptly, not in any way that suggested he was startled, but enough that she noticed, and knew that he wasn’t sleeping anymore.
“You’re awake,” she murmured, the words slipping out low and quiet, trying to not disturb the quietness of the morning.
There had been a pause, then along with a small stretch, a soft sound came from Xie Zheng – sleepy and ridiculously comfortable even from her outsider view.
“Mm.”
Her hand drifted up to smooth over his beautiful hair in a gentle caress automatically, making Xie Zheng simply melt under her touch with a satisfied hum.
But she noticed the faint, smug smirk in the corner of his lips – entirely at odds with the soft atmosphere. It didn’t take long for her to figure out why he had that expression on his face.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, watching him with a mixture of exasperation, fondness, and slight embarrassment due to her actions.
“You were pretending,” she accused him, pursing her lips, feeling betrayed.
