    Peter's voice whittles down to a high pitched whistle, forgetting that he needs to breathe to continue creating more sound.

    After a few more agonizing seconds during which Peter weighs the possibilities that he just gave his mentor and the savior of the world a heart attack, Mr. Stark looks up at him, eyes suddenly wide.

    A beat passes.

    "What's your teacher's name again?"

    AKA, Ryland Grace and Tony Stark hooked up in college. This is fine, until 20 years later, Peter Parker gets involved. It's all downhill from there.

    A visit/attack from Loki leaves Tony in a very unusual predicament – there are two of him. What’s a guy to do, besides seduce himself? Seduce Captain America?

    ... Well. Why not?

    This lives in the nebulous world post-Avengers, where everyone is happy and they all live in the tower together. Everything is beautiful and nothing hurts.

     

    This fic is a part of the Cap-IM Reverse Big Bang, and was inspired by/based on the amazingly beautiful art by kelsk, who is amazing and wonderful and kind and a great artist. It’s linked here and embedded in the fic. You should go heap love on it and its magnificent beauty.

    Given a choice between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, Tony is pretty sure most worlds would choose him to search for a misplaced Winter Soldier. After all: look at what Rogers did to their own for his Bucky's sake.

    What he fails to account for is the wormhole's destination, which happens to be the middle of WWII. It's a nightmare come to life... for the Winter Soldier as well as Tony Stark.

    Tony's life doesn't flash before his eyes or anything like that. He's almost died too many times to still have that nonsense going on. He has a split second to think: well, of course, and also, fuck, I promised Barnes I'd get him home. Of course it would happen like this. Ever since Rogers walked into his life, Tony has been destined to be killed by him because of Barnes.

    The shield is almost instantly caught in a metal hand. The Soldier twists all of Sergeant Barnes on the axis of his shoulder, landing him roughly on the floor face down, and slices the shield down. It ricochets off the cement floor and sticks to the roof of the hangar with the eerie sound of shearing metal.
