Summary
Jayce is admittedly a little nervous as he makes the trek to Viktor's shitty apartment. He hasn't been to class in days, and a deadline is coming up for one of their projects.
Sometimes Viktor gets in these moods.
He won't eat, won't leave his house, rarely his bed– It's like he's trying to make himself non-existent, like if he curls up small enough he'll disperse into nothingness
or;
Viktor is like a work in progress, a prototype; his angles too sharp, his mind too unstable. One wrong move, and the whole thing could fall apart. He's infuriating.
Jayce thinks he loves Viktor as much as someone like him can love another person.
Viktor assures him he absolutely does not.

Summary
⚭
Viktor Talis can't remember anything ever belonging solely to him before Jayce.
God, did it feel good to have Jayce to himself; to attend fancy galas and feel his hand rest on the small of his back, to come home to Jayce, to watch the morning news slumped against his shoulder, to have someone who embraced all his imperfections, to love and be loved, unconditionally.
Of course, in true Viktor Reveck fashion, he's never been able to have something good without it slipping from his grasp.

Summary
“All you have to do is wake up,” Viktor would say, back when things were expected of them. “You only need to wake with the sun, and I will be proud of you.”
Looking at Jayce's sleeping figure, he no longer thinks that's the case. He just needs to be breathing, alive.

Summary
Viktor's relationship with food has never been healthy, really. From not having enough to intentionally avoiding it, he's had his fair share of insecurity around eating.
He's been successfully recovered for years before it comes up again, and it feels so silly to go back on it now, after everything he'd been through the first time around.
or ;
“I'm a grown man scared of a sandwich.” Viktor scoffs. “This is ridiculous, surely you see how ridiculous this is?”
Jayce bites his lip before responding. “You're a person with a problem who deserves support.” He says, as calmly as he can.

Summary
Jayce is having trouble remembering exactly what happened. He was here to– to kill Viktor.
He'd swerved at the last second, mind splitting, arcane making his head pound. The rest is fuzzy...
Jayce stays quiet as Viktor bathes him.

Summary
“Maybe I have a surprise or two of my own, Kevin, you’ll have to see. It’s only once a boy turns twenty, after all!”
Kevin startles himself out of staring at the crinkled pages of the Book to look up at that. “You do?” He says.
“Oh, yes,” Connor is slightly flushed.
“Can I know what it is?”
“That’ll spoil the surprise,” says Connor, “Patience is a virtue.”
“I’m plenty virtuous,” says Kevin just because he knows it’ll make Connor laugh - which it does, bright and cheerful, like the ringing of a bell.
“Lying is a sin, Elder Price."
[Or; Kevin picks up cooking as a hobby. Connor keeps him company, and Kevin doesn't know why - until he does.]
