Summary
The disappointment was forgotten entirely by 1:47 a.m., when he found himself pressed against the mirrored wall of a lift in the Gran Hotel Melia Torre Melina. It wasn’t his first time kissing a man, or even his second – but it was the first time it was Roy Kent, his manager, and he was watching it over Roy’s shoulder more than feeling it on his lips, repeated all around them in an ascending, dimly lit box that he prayed didn’t have a camera – and it must’ve been the hundredth time since Amsterdam that he felt confused about what something between them meant, what they were to each other.

Summary
It was a fifty-fifty shot, he thought. But Ted had said no, he didn’t think it was a good idea, and they sat quietly together at the bar, sipping beer until it was time for Ted to head home and call his son. When Ted got up to leave, Jamie felt a sharp, terrifying pang in his chest, and he considered—

Summary
Three years after his retirement from playing, former Chelsea star Roy Kent is set to return to his boyhood club for the 20th anniversary of the opening of Sunderland’s Academy of Light. The ceremony will conclude with the unveiling of a new training pitch named in Kent’s honour, a testament to his enduring impact on the club.
In 1991, a nine-year-old Kent relocated from London to Sunderland to enrol in training at the Charlie Hurley Centre, then home to the club’s youth academy. Despite interest from other clubs, Kent chose Sunderland on the same day he received their offer. When asked about his decision, the young player simply said, "My grandad loves Sunderland, so I do too."
On a road trip to Sunderland, a few detours shine a light on memories buried and words unsaid, revealing a greater task within their journey.

Summary
“If there’s a big man coaching Richmond…” Roy gestures broadly—as insultingly broad as he can. “I haven’t seen him.”
Jamie looks unimpressed. Like he’d been waiting to be hurt but expected more. Looks fucking disappointed. Roy’s not done.
“All I see is a little boy, barely two years into a job he thinks he deserves because he’s got the loudest mouth in the room. With a cheap win under his belt because he probably got on his knees for the referee.”

Summary
After their triumphant win in Mom City, Roy and Jamie decide to stay behind in Manchester for an extra night. As they explore the city on foot (and wheelchair), they discover things about both each other and themselves.
Roy looks like a magazine clipping pasted onto an incongruous background, making an improbable collage, clashing figures from his personal mythology with just some fucking place where Jamie grew up.

Summary
Roy was already more than a little hard, and Jamie snickered, squeezing again.
“You actually get hard when you're pissed off at me?”
“No, because then I'd have a raging hard-on twenty hours out of every twenty-four. I'd have to see a doctor,” Roy said, but he laid his book to one side and reached down to put his hand over Jamie's.

Summary
When the team bus breaks down and Richmond have to take refuge in a snug little hotel, there aren't enough rooms to go around. It's no big deal for Roy and Jamie to share a room, is it?
Under no circumstances is Jamie allowed to enjoy this.

Summary
Jamie runs his fingers over the pages, thinking of himself seven, eight years ago who had written these words. He could’ve written some of it yesterday, if it weren’t for the fact he called him Roy Kent, full name every time. It’s embarrassing, is what it is. He knows Roy-the-real-person now, not just the football star. Knows him deeply; he can only think of a very small circle of people who know Roy better than Jamie does, the guarded fuck.
Yet he’s in the same situation, pining after Roy like he’s still stuck in this bedroom, not able to see or touch or talk to this man for real. He could do something about it. Jamie’s fucking fit. He’s a catch. Why can’t he go for it?(Jamie helps his mum and Simon move house. Packing up his childhood bedroom, he comes to a decision.)

Summary
He’s about to get into the driver’s seat when another flash goes off right in his face and some smirky fucker says, “So, you like taking it up the ass?”
“Love it,” Jamie’s mouth says before Jamie’s brain can get in on the action. “Feels fucking great. Have a good day!”
Or: the post-Season 1 fic where, Instead of self-destruction via reality show, Jamie tries self-destruction via public and very messy coming out. It works out better than expected.

Summary
"Are we..." Jamie starts, and then discovers that he doesn't actually have words for the question. Flirting? If that's what this is, they're beyond that. Dating? They definitely aren't, except for how it feels like they kind of are. Ever going to fuck? He can't say that.
"Oh," says Roy, before he can make a decision. "Yes."
Jamie wrinkles up his forehead. If he's that calm, he must not understand what Jamie is trying to ask. "Romantic," he decides. "Are things between us romantic?"
"Yes," Roy repeats.
