Then a weak coworker crush that would disappear once he got to know the man behind Superman. But it didn’t—wouldn’t—disappear. If anything, the feelings only got stronger as time stretched on; five years of knowing Superman, three in which he also knew Clark Kent, and with every one, he only grew more infatuated with the man.
Which is not going to work. He’s already noticed little things; assigning himself with Superman when their specific skills would work better separately, risking mission objectives when Superman is in danger, scheduling “interviews” with Clark Kent at a quantity that must be suspicious to anyone paying attention… This crush is more harm than it’s worth, and Bruce needs to get rid of it.
So he makes a list.
