“Anakin?” Ahsoka asks anyway, devastation drawing closed her features as she mentally steadies herself. They stand in a formation of rocks a few meters from the ship. A few meters from Ahsoka’s escape, should she choose it. She thought it was going to be everyone’s escape, but the darkness dripping from Anakin paints a horrific picture instead.

Cody feels the touch along the back of his hand and holds his hand still, as if by stilling himself he can still time and make this moment go on forever. It won’t. It never does, but it never stops him from freezing.
Obi-Wan moves his hand away after a second because he is just coming to stand beside his commander, not a lover trying to hold hands with their beloved. Cody gives him a nod which Obi-Wan returns, his heart aching to step forward and press their foreheads together.

From everything Ahsoka has seen in these reoccurring dreams of hers, her death was never one of them. It’s not something she fears, hasn’t for a long time. War will blast that fear out of you.
“Maybe.” She wipes the tears from her cheeks. “It’s more likely he’ll turn me.”
“Is that what you dreamed about?” Rex asks, perceptive as ever.
“It’s always what I dream about. My blade is red and your brothers are dead by it.”

Bruce won’t tolerate this big a mistake. He drew a line in the sand a long time ago, and Jason hasn’t crossed it since. There was too much at stake for Jason to risk losing the only person that thought there was something worthwhile in him even after the Pit. Jason could restrain himself. Turning killing to maiming wasn’t that hard after all. It’s the same skills.
But Jason got sloppy tonight.

Dean can only stare at the man in front of him, so similar to the person he once called friend. The dark robes that flow around him are so different from the tan he always favored. His dark hair and strong build are the same. The face too, except for a new scar across his eye. It makes him look sexy, deadly, capable. And of course, the golden yellow eyes where there used to be blue orbs that Dean rotated around like they were a planet and he was the moon. Now blue is replaced with the sun, burning bright and causing Dean to enact caution.

“Also Commander Wolffe’s here,” Thorn said, purposely casual.
Fox sighed. “Here, picking his problems up from the tank, or here, he wants something?”
“Here, he got his boys out already and he’s still waiting around,” Thorn said apologetically, and then with an amused tilt of the head, “We told him you were busy and he said he’d wait until you were done working.”
Fox snorted. Fox, just like Thorn and the other Guard commanders, was never actually done working.
Or: Fox is maybe not okay, and Wolffe is maybe not okay with that.
