“The Knight— The Arkham Knight armour— please tell me you still have it- I know it got fucked up at some point but you gotta have other models of it somewhere,” Clark pleads, words escaping him faster than he can think, he can’t have the one good thing in this depressing universe not exist anymore.
“Why?”
Well. That’s a loaded question. Is ‘I want to fuck you ‘till you see stars and can’t remember your name while you wear it,’ an appropriate, normal person thing to say?

“You can try.” A strange look flashes across Prime’s face, a glimpse of something real, and Jason realizes just how fake everything else must have been for that tiny flicker to appear so jarring. “Historically, really hasn't worked out well for anyone involved.”
Or; Jason isn’t in the habit of picking up strays, but the inexplicably clingy Super following him around might just change that.

There's a war against Gotham. Guess which side of it you're on?
The Arkham Knight's.
Under covert circumstances involving Deathstroke, you've been assigned a "special" role, where you operate outside the militia's hierarchy. And it's all thanks to the "unique skills" you possess. That means you have no rank, no restrictions, and an unspoken agreement that would probably turn the entire militia against you.
There are just a few problems:
- You answer only to the Knight.
- You don't like each other (makes the first point difficult).
- Also, he's the same guy you hooked up with on your first night in Gotham (makes everything difficult).You're off to a great start.
OR: You unknowingly had a one-night stand with your new commander. You try really, really hard not to let it happen again.

Summary
For all that your father preaches about never killing, you’ve never been particularly attached to the rule, though you did follow it religiously. However, when the Joker kills Jason, all bets are off. Of course, the consequences of cold-blooded murder mean that you’ve been forcibly retired, your family cannot stand to look at you, and most importantly, you have been put under lock and key, or as close as you can get to that in the modern age, especially when you're a beloved, local celebrity.
You can live with that if it means your brother is rightfully avenged, but what are you to do when, a few years later, you gain a heart-achingly familiar stalker? You’d believe him a hallucination if he hadn’t swept you away from the only place you’ve called home.

There's an emotional throughline of developing character dynamics over the course of the series, but I've written the vast majority of the stories to be self-contained plot-wise. There's no required reading order if you want to jump around to ones that catch your interest, though I do recommend starting with the first one for background.

Which is simplifying it. Because, well, magic isn’t allowed in Gotham, first off. But also, it really doesn’t want to come to Gotham. Of all the things the Bat tries to keep out, magic is the easiest because magic wants to stay as far away from the city as possible. Zatanna called it a “cesspit of untamed ambient magic,” which was being nice even with calling it a cesspit. The last time some asked Constantine about Gotham he just laughed, lit his cigarette, and walked away.
