It's fine. He’s completely chill about this. He’s completely calm and collected about the fact that Alhaitham bought a collar for some other omega. A collar of the highest grade, he can tell—the leather is supple and soft, with a removable ring, and Kaveh knows, from the smaller box stuffed into the bag, that it’s supposed to display a stunning little ruby the size of his thumb. Understated yet entirely screaming of wealth and good craftsmanship.
He's not bitter.
He’s not.
Which means that when he gets home and finds Alhaitham calmly lounging on the divan like he isn’t having any thoughts of being with another omega, Kaveh stomps up to him and says, “Who. The fuck. Is it.”

“No,” Kaveh says, “it’s not.” He doesn’t look Alhaitham in the eyes as he says it.
Somehow, even with no proof, Alhaitham feels like he’s lying.

Little Kakavasha had quickly grown out of that mindset, when he saw his people being massacred. Kaveh took a deep breath in an almost futile attempt to calm himself down from… who even knew at this point? The embarrassment of being caught ogling his roommate, or the simple fact that two literal gods had infiltrated his consciousness.
"My apologies, Lord Ibis King and…Goat King?"

Hm?
He knew it was wrong to listen in on a potentially private conversation, but Kaveh’s curiosity took over his decisions. Alhaitham never told him anything anymore, he rationalized. He just wanted to make sure he was forming good relationships with his friends. That was all.
His decision to eavesdrop had nothing to do with this mysterious person who allegedly had Alhaitham of all people wrapped around his finger. Nope. Not one bit.
After saving Sumeru, Alhaitham and Dehya hang out every month to catch up (read: gossip) as friends do. And if that gossip happens to be about Alhaitham’s hopeless crush on his roommate, then so be it.
One day, Kaveh happens to overhear.
