    “ if, perchance, you should grieve at all, let her not perceive it;
and laugh when, within yourself, you could have wept.
    — Ovid, Remedia Amoris

The thing about the words we say, even the ones we mean to say, is that we can never really tell how completely they might unravel a life. And for Yolanda Garcia, who has built herself carefully around discipline, distance and the absolute refusal to need anybody at all, it only takes one badly timed sentence for everything to begin coming apart.

aka my take on post series 2 Garsantos and how Yolanda and trinity might come back together again.

Santos smiles. “You know, I meant what I said.”
    “What’s that?”
Santos turns her head to meet Garcia’s heavy gaze. “I think you might kill me.”
Garcia glances down to her jaw and then to her lips before coming back to Santos’ eyes.
“I think you might kill me first."

A simple apology leads to mind-blowing sex as Santos and Garcia become obsessed with getting each other off. Part smut, part character study, part Santos growing, and healing, and experiencing all the pain and joy of letting herself be known.

“We both knew what we were getting into when we started seeing each other,” Garcia eventually said. She looked over her shoulder, glancing at Santos. “And we both agreed this was just casual, didn’t we?”

She didn’t know if she was reminding herself or reminding Santos about their arrangement.

“I know we did… just wanted to make sure you didn’t mean–”

“I was tired and tipsy and you made me come not even thirty seconds before that. I wasn’t exactly in the sharpest state of mind,” Garcia cut off, not unkindly. “Let’s not make this a big deal.”

Or: The events leading up to their 4th of July shift; Garcia accidentally lets an "I love you" slip and tries (fails) to be casual about it.

The only thing Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair have in common is that they're both the youngest members of Team USA this year. Other than that, there's no reason for them to get along at all.

    Summary

It’s apparent the cell is made for two people, but the space is so minimally decorated that Enid had assumed she was the only inhabitant. And evidently, there is no cellmate present.

“Where is she?” Enid asks, now noting the stack of books on one of the desks.

    “In solitary.”

She’s afraid to ask, but the guard’s gradual shift in tone—strict and no nonsense, to almost hesitant—and her own undying curiosity get the better of her.

    “What for?”

“Strangling a guard with her braid. She was quite unhappy to hear that she has a new bunkmate.”

Or, in which, Enid’s stint in prison with a notorious cellmate is challenging—until it’s not.
